He was rubbish for the first half of the season but improved after Kompany started to play centre back more often. Kolo Toure is a clown and Wayne Bridge leaves massive gaps on the left, it would be hard for any player to look good when having to cover not just your own position but for both teammates on either side of you. Simpson more to blame for giving the corner away, Harper was being impeeded, but that's not to say he couldn't have been a little stronger in there.
