Butt isn't in there to create, he is in there to mop up loose balls and give the ball to players who can create.
Unfortunately we don't have any.
Our entire midfield seems to be in there to mop up loose balls but we have no players there who can create. Zoggy is at left back and Emre was on the bench!
It's funny because it's true

Much like the Derby game, not at all impressed with his decision making in pre match tactics especially.
Important thing after Derby was that we learned something from it... however just seems to have the same midfield out today anyway.

rant rant rant
Seriously dude ... get a life.
You are comlpetely clueless about football. You are really an embarrassment.
Souness and Roeder? You disgust me.
-
Indeed we weren't that terrible, Martins and Vids especially did well together I thought.
But it's the whole predictability of the way the game went, the way they bossed the midfield without our tactics being altered in any way to counter this.
... annoying.
-
Very fitting conclusion.
-
Good job Mpenza is pretty shit... could be a much more embarassing scoreline.
-
Smith being ridiculed by the whole stadium... nice :s
-
Roze up the pitch now.... great game for the neutrals has to be said.
-
... terrible atempt from Martins... seen the worst of him there, was a good couple of yards wide from ten yards out.
-
Nothing's changed, defence still utter s***, time to go Allardyce
Hahahaha you utter moron.
thick cunt, open your eyes
fuck off if petty windup is all you're capable of.

God! Wish we would stop putting the ball out! FFS! this is the kind of rubbish and softness that allows people to walk all over us.
The ref is ordering it. They're not doing it out of kindness.
no no, the ref hasnt said anything on every occasion. Our players caving to the pressure and moaning from the crowd.

Another great ball by Smith...
He might as well be playing with his hands in his pockets and whistling to himself.
-
Typical nufc implision that was! Cant really blame Taylor for not keeping up with Petrov...
If we're going to be giving him 50 yards to run into we might as well give up now!
-
Why risk him?
Because he's going to get injured again no matter what... might as well throw him out there when "pretty much fit"
-
- w.t.f is going on with Smith? He seems to be spending so much time just ambling around the pitch, its like he's on acid and has just spotted a seagull!
That's the point I was trying to make earlier... he seems to just be stroling around. One good tackle is all he's offered. Hope he buckles up or gets taken off.

We're getting ripped apart down Zoggy's side. I'm not sure if the problem is his positioning, or whether he's not getting help
I think the main problem is that he's pretty much on his own down the left.
-
Ok, who comes off for Enrique?
I'd say Smith
-
Oba having a quality game so far! Passing, first touches and winning the ball has been very good. A couple of his usual speculative atempts going miles away, but oh well.
-
n'zogbia gets raped there
Why were we holding a line so high up with everyone static? it was pretty ridiculous.
-
What a first touch by Oba! Uncharacteristically so. HAVE to give props to Viduka also brilliantly winning the ball back at the start of it all.
Let's keep it nice and tidy now.
-
Terrible passing=no possession=no chances on goal. It's getting tough to watch these games with the midfield we put out there.
Was always going to be a battle of the midfields this one... and with the pace and dynamism they have, way the game has been so far is not really a surprise.
-
There we go Milner already having a better game than last week out on his usual right side
Fucking annoying lazy passing from Smith just then for Zoggy amongst other... just playing in a comfort zone out there... not lining himself up for shots like he could have on a couple of occasions.
James Milner

He was a lot better today than last week. First half especially.
