how we gonna know ?

i think someone should corral all the dreams that have been posted on this forum and put them into a dream depository so we can look back and check if there were any substance to their message.

my apologies to other bayern's out there. a bit like a german coming on here and saying united (and meaning the manchester one). shouldn't it be either bavaria munich or bayern munchen anyway ?
-
real madrad can compete if they start trying to build a team instead of just assembling star players and hoping it comes together.

Like Bayern & Real Madrid? You must have also overlooked the bit your hero gets a mention: The most acerbic commentary towards the shortcomings of continental clubs perhaps can be found in Corriere della Sera, the Milan daily, where Alberto Costa wrote: “The situation [with no Italian clubs involved at this stage] is embarrassing but perhaps we can learn something watching on TV from home. It’s not just that their clubs play better football, they also run more and work harder. Because we in Italy refuse to believe that anyone trains better than we do, we have to ask ourselves just why Wayne Rooney can chase full backs up and down the pitch whereas [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic stands still, hands on hips. Maybe it’s a question of attitude.” check bayerns wage beill up against man utd's. why do people only think transfer fee and forget the wages which are often equal to if not greater than the fee. By all means if you send me a link. Bayern are hardly Villarreal and they are hardly man utd. Could you not find a link? Be careful though after the “The Secret Payroll of Bayern” rumpus. the closest i could find were these. http://www.tribalfootball.com/man-utd-wage-bill-jumps-%C2%A3121m-237755 http://bundesliga.theoffside.com/teams/transfer-fees-from-bayern-via-hoffenheim-to-cottbus.html there is a diecrepency that they are one year apart and that at the time the munich one was done the euro was worth considerably more to the pound. converting man utds 121mill into todays euro gives 136.5mill euro. alsoi to add in that in germany there is a huge drop off after bayern, where as i don't think man utd are the top spenders on wages in england.

actually you don't, you give one fact repeated ad nauseam - the rest is your opinion tarted up as fact through the smoke and mirror act of condescension between yourself & JJ7 there were facts and opinions, i'll enlighten you: FS was a big part [fnar] of the European qualifications (facts) but he also ran out of ideas (strong conjecture/opinion) and the club was nearly bankrupt/in a dire financial situation (fact) what's so hard about it for you? you quote the Euro qualifications and JJ7 says: "Yep, then he lost the plot, made too many mistakes and nearly bankrupted the club" he's not contradicting you, you can surely understand that? he's referring to 2 different points in time man then you reply and tell him to repost his rubbish in 5 years!!! you remind me of billy pilgrim dude, totally shot to f*** through all the time travelling you've done so you can't work out simple linear facts and events anymore Good points. Im not biting here, honestly as its just a general point, but there are very few people in business or politics or whatever who are always good. Most people usually start to fail and make mistakes in the end. Look at Hitler who performed miricles at the start, Thatcher, Brooks Mileson, Peter Ridsdale, Doug Ellis etc..... Even if Freddy had won us the league for three seasons between 1997 and 2000, you can't just stick with them when they continue to make mistake after mistake. absolutely agree, and it's a balance thing we'd tipped the scales under FS, and as a PLC in my opinion, but we got very unlucky with who bought us out - as has been said countless times the ashley period being an abject failure to date does not validate the later years of FS & the PLC at the end of the day, it depends how you look at it. Football is a risky business. A lot of people say - and not just on here - that if you aren't in europe, you are s***. Construed : what they mean is they have known nothing less than regularly playing in europe, so don't listen to people like me who try to tell them that such things aren't automatic and only the good clubs with good boards qualify regularly for europe. You hit the nail slightly on the head when you say we were "unlucky with who bought us out"........having seen the club when we were REALLY s**** [far more than the supposed "s****" of the recent past, until now since Ashley came in] I see it differently, I see the vast majority of the clubs in the top 2 leagues as being s****, and I say we "got lucky" when we had good directors. It might be quite a while until we "get lucky" again ....... and a lot of people will be sitting around in 10 years time and looking back at the Halls and Shepherd and realise it, but I obviously hope not bearing in mind my age. This is all I've said from day 1 by the way. At least some people - since ashley - have begun to understand. wrongish, it also depends on why you look at it in a certain way. for example why are you determined, against all reason, to try and make out that we weren't in the shit at the end of fred's reign despite all the evidence saying we were ?

Perfectly summed up. That's why we're in this position. the league table doesn't tell the full story of bobby's last full season. we were massivly inferior to the previous season.
-
if you don't tell the truth it'll never be heard.
-
not liverpools usual tactic. seemed the decision to play like that was part forced (gerrard out) and part tactical (ivanovic not a full back and chelseas weaknesses being mainly out wide defensivly)
-
always puzzles me why you don't tell the whole truth mind. like the position fred left the club in.
-
Are you going to back up this libelous nonsense? I'd be interested to hear this too tbh. I was taking the piss. I'm sure Greg's laughing his head off. it's the old "i'll have a go but if it does work i'll claim was joke"scam. Bingo. i missed an "n't" in there, but you're all used to my ways eh ?

Really? A player I didnt appreciate till he was gone. Not outstanding but looked like f***ing Jesus Christ beside O Brien,Bramble and Babs and a man who's eyes sunk so far back into his head that when he enters the room his eyes come in 5 minutes later.

-
we need to bully spurs. with a fit barton i'd fancy us but i don't think we'll have enough physical presence in the middle.
-
both greg and oldtype are right in a way in that spurs have been favourites to win in most of the last six games (oldtype) but i'm fucked if i can (or could at the time) work out why they were favourites in most of them(greg)
