http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/1301_ashley.shtml news of the screws like but it is in quotes.my mistake, it's "not a buck to anyone"

I'm not sure he wiped it all out, I think he put somewhere between £75 million and £80 million in to get rid of the big debts that were costing a fortune to finance and one which he had no choice but to pay off due to the terms of the original loan. ashley is quoted as saying the club owes not a bean to anyone

i always like it when a good original topical chant is taken up. "you'rte supposed to be in jail" type. it would be appreciated if someone could remember the song sung to trevor morley after his wife stabbed him.

don't read too much into his form recently in brazil as the main league finished in november and doesn't start till may. all he's played in has been the regional league.

I heard that around Christmas time I think. Overheard a Blackburn supporter telling his mate he better watch out, he better not cry, he better not pout, then he told him why. how long you been waiting to use that ?

Why? Club and international football are two completely different kettles of fish. Look at how sh*t Man Utd did in the Champions League when they had a similar ruling back then. They had to play players like Gary Walsh or Kevin Pilkington ahead of Schmeichel, Terry Cooke rather than Keane. F*cking stupid idea tbh. yeah but there does seem something in the idea that the countries producing the best players winning things at club level. Is that what international football's for though, Madras? i can understand your point but when temas are putting out 11's that are totally foreign it just seems wrong so maybe if teams had to play so many from their home country the prices for average players would rocket so maybe they'd put more care into developing their own. i'd be more radical and give clubs 5 years notice and say 5 players from each starting 16 (though i beleive 18 is on its way) have to have come through the ranks (in this case from 16 yrs old) Remember seeing a quote from Walter Smith or Gordon Strachan recently about that. In Scotland, I think 2 of the 7 subs have to be Under 21 and Scottish. Whichever one of the two it was who was speaking was critical of the ruling saying it meant that he had to name 2 players who didn't particularly deserve to be in the squad, and they were getting a bit above themselves and cocky because they were going round with the attitude that they'd "made it". Basically what he was saying was that instead of having to work their a*ses off in training to prove a point, he had to pick them anyway. Now imagine having to pick 6 Englishman in the team? I think you'll get a lot of the same. Instead of having to work harder in training to prove to the manager that they deserve a chance, they'll be getting picked by default anyway. Not sure how that's going to benefit the national sides. that sounds like an excuse. surely it's easy for the manager to say to those kids that they haven't made it, that they are only there for that reason and they have to prove to him they are worthy of staying there or he can easy get another couple to fill those places.

Fiiiiine we'll take Drogba off their hands. Martins------Owen-------Drogba Despite his undoubted talent i would f****** hate it if we signed Drogba. He's a cheating, moaning, self obsessed fucktard! yes, of course you would. Why is it so hard to believe? I pay my money to be entertained, not to watch some arsehole throw himself to the ground like he's been shot every time someone brushes his shirt. The guy is an embarassment, a total disgrace to football! I couldn't give a toss how good he is, i genuinely would not want him to play for the team i support. Goals are boring like. Btw, what a load of s***. while i wouldnt go so far as to say i'd hate it if he signed, i'm not far away from agreeing with steve on this. i think drogba's an embarassment as a player and as a human being, i'd find it very very difficult indeed to support him but you'd be happy for us to sign El Hadj Diouf who throws his pregnant wife down the stairs for christsakes Drogba goes down a bit too easy, doesn't make him the devil i would have been happy with diouf when sam was in charge, aye, but with keegan and proper money to spend (hopefully) its a different matter imo. hang on doc...i'll get you a digger, that spade doesn't seem big enough

I'm sure it was a Wednesday, I lived in the midlands at the time and got the train from Birmingham. We were behind the goal and it really was bad. They had allotments behind the ground and had a platform up a tree, they stood up the tree for the full game and threw bricks. The exact same thing happened the only other time I went but that time wasn't too bad as I stood against the back wall, I thought it would be safe the second time as I really thought the police would have worked out a way of stopping them. I got into Cardiff during the day and was on the drink in the city centre then walked up to the ground and went in the Ninian Park pub which was a big mistake although nothing actually happened other than threats. We tried to go that way after the game to get back to the train station and I was stabbed with the metal point of an umbrella then it kicked off for a few minutes until the police came along and took us the other way. We did OK considering I was only with one other person and we got jumped by 5 or 6, I couldn't miss them when I lashed out at them yet they quite often hit each other because they couldn't get at us. The first time we beat them 4-0 and were escorted to the train station, it started with something like 30 of us being escorted but I would guess 70 were Cardiff fans by the time we got near to the station, they kicked off just as we got to the train station, the police didn't seem to do much but to be fair, I had other things on my mind so didn't see much of what they did. To let so many people get amongst us on the way down without asking where they were from was pathetic. we got the coppers to let us into the NUFC standing area for the last 30mins. figured we'd stand more of a chance in a larger group of us.ended up taking ordres to buy tickets for the oxford game a week later from some southern based mags and sending them down to them. we had been in the ninian pub that night (brains bitter) but left when we got far too out numbered and it started looking dodgy.

was that the 2-1 win when beardsley scored his first toon goal ? No, it was the 2-0 when Keegan scored and Beardsley scored his first toon goal, I think. Anyway, it was the same game. a tuesday or wednesday night. i was in the seats and the cardiff fans were climbing up from the paddock to get at us. the stewards really enjoyed braying hell out of them as they were all newport fans.
