Alright, give me one logical reason why our owners would let journalists/whole world know how much we are going to spend?
-
Stunned how there are still people that think some journalist would know how much we are about to spend. Use your brains and explain why any team would let their budget to be known by any outsider.
-
There are no ”free” transfers. Transfer fee gets pretty much converted to higher signing-on fee and wage.
-
Have a feeling this will be Havertz’s breakthrough season although I said the same last summer. Just too good to fail.
-
Ashley and purples are still strong at N-O’s minds. As @leffe186 said, Richarlison is perfect for Spurs as he can play in any forward position and they’ll be playing tons of games and then there’s the World Cup. And he’s class, should be starting ahead of Kulusevski in big games.

Ekitike was born in 2002, we are fucking old now. I don't know why you didn't bold the 'bit' too as it very much changes what I meant. Thauvin and Cabella both came with a decent reputation and flopped hard. HBA and ASM mostly liked but some idiots are still sad to have seen them in a NUFC shirt.

I haven’t really followed this thread that much but find the hate for the kid proper weird. He’s 19 and his agent is whispering how every big club in Europe is interested in him. Yet some people here seem to be genuinely hurt that he hasn’t jumped at the chance to sign for a midtable English club that has a bit dubious history with French flair players. Feel like that attitude by some NUFC fans is more entitled than anything the kid has done.

Because there’s absolutely no sense to let anyone know how much we are going to spend. Local journos are desperately trying to stay relevant despite knowing as much as you and me.

Raphinha had 6.94 expected assists so his teammates converted chances he created really poorly which isn't a surprise as Bamford was out almost all season. Diaby had 0.59 non-penalty xG+xA per 90 minutes, Raphinha 0.43 (0.60 last year when Leeds were doing better). Leverkusen scored a whopping 80 goals though compared to Leeds' 42. I know almost nothing about Diaby but feel like Raphinha would carry less risk and had a bit of a down year as Leeds were struggling. Edit. TCD made the same comments on the next page.

So Howe should tell him to never use his greatest strength and just cross the ball at first opportunity? Fucking hell.
-
I remember the most blatant fake injury ever that got him subbed after fucking up some challenge iirc?
-
Seriously speaking, this is something he should be applauded for but I also think he's just not good enough tactically to take that last step and you are wasting this tournament when Kane is still in his prime.

Tbf Southgate has done a great job in changing the image of the team/country and I don't think it would be seen as a toxic job anymore. He had two great chances to go all the way and ultimately failed, I thought you should have gotten a real manager in after the Euros to have a real shot at the WC with the nice squad you now have.
-
Southgate is a fraud. He hasn't passed the eye test for ages but because you had a favourable run of opponents in the last two tournaments he's immune to any criticism to some. You constantly play for a 1-0 win and the margin for error becomes tiny. Hilarious that the main reason people want to keep him is that 'we are not a laughing stock anymore' with this squad of players. Also the 'there's no one better' and then you take a peek at Southgate's managerial career so far. It's too late for a change now but I don't see this team doing anything at the WC.
-
Richarlison is absolute class, think his antics in the relegation fight have made him a worse player for many in here.
-
94 WC is the first football thing I remember and I adored Roberto Baggio so probably him.
-
That means no one can ever again say that Ronaldo is better than Messi.
-
Zinchenko is so good when he doesn't have to defend.
-
Aye, they have a lot of class players and Yarmolenko looks ten years younger whenever he's playing for Ukraine.
-
Yeah, this was so interesting psychologically. This Ukraine team must be up there with the most motivated team ever while Scotland could be seen us villains by some if they knock them out.
-
I don't think his age is relevant at all considering he's learning a completely new position. Howe's coaching and Joelinton's willingness to improve as a player and hopefully a full pre-season, I'm confident that the won't be making the wrong choice so often next season.

Ekitike didn't outscore his xG that badly, 10 goals from 8.20xG. xG isn't perfect but it's a great tool in trying to analyse football outside of just the result or how many goals someone scored. I can't find Cisse's numbers for the 5th place season but I'm pretty sure no one in the world thought his finishing was sustainable. He scored 13 goals in 14 appearances, followed by 24 goals in 103 PL appearances for us. Here's a two year old article about finishing, best finishers do outscore their xG but not by that much (Son at the top with 36%, Messi 22% and Ronaldo 5% for example). And even Son has had seasons where his xG is really close to his goals scored (17/18 and 19/20). https://www.infogol.net/en/blog/analysis/hit-or-miss-the-most-clinical-finishers-in-europe-142020

Would be amazing and was thinking about it last week. This thread seems to get at least 10 new pages any time I'm away from the forum and the .com rumours page just has way too many names to have any idea what's serious.
