  1. I remember when the lad first joined - it took him a while to settle and get to the fitness which Howe wanted. He then started the following season really well and broke into the England set-up. But for the majority of 2025 (CL form aside) - he's been average at best. 1 goal and 1 assist in the league ain't good enough at all. for a outside left as part of a 3 man attack.
  2. Big Geordie

    Joelinton

Was our best player today, until he went off.
  3. His league form for the past year has been pish for an England regular. If this lack of form continues then his starting place in the England XI must be in real danger.
  4. I feel that the way this season has gone - there's no way we qualify for europe this season, via the league. We are just too inconsistent/under-performing. Might not be a bad thing though to miss out - might give the club a chance for a major refresh in the summer. It's gonna be a tough 2 months ahead - for certain.
  5. He might be forced to try something different soon - midfielders are dropping like flies.
  6. Another no show in the league from our England winger.
  7. Beaten by the better side today - no complaints from me. We are so consistently inconsistent this season. Another no show from Gordon, mind.
  8. We've not bee on it, but got to give Villa credit because they have played really well, moved the ball around and look a threat on the counter. Deserve to be infront, even with the wondergoal. For us - Joelinton doing terrific in midfield, but our wingers have been really disappointing and again, we aren't getting the ball out wide quick enough. Hangoever from Weds? Am not sure.
  9. Missed that as I'd gone for a dump!
  10. West Ham score, but VAR check. Ruled out Still 3-1
  11. Mackems hit the bar, via a mishit cross.
  12. Good start to a Saturday - them down the road getting battered at HT.
  13. Worth pointing out that as poor as PSV were last night, they are no mugs when it comes to how they have done over the last couple of seasons. It was a super win.
  14. He's quite probably our player of the season so far. If I were Scotland, I'd be trying my damnest to get the lad to declare for them and get him to the World Cup.
  15. Really good win and performance, against a good PSV side. Think we just had too much physicality for them. MoM - Harvey Barnes.
  16. McCoist is really good, but I've never heard him on when he's covering Rangers or the mackems though!
  17. So today for our game, we had Don Goodman (ex Wolves and the mackems) doing co-comms for Sky. Yesterday. Gary Neville (ex Man United) was doing the same thing for the Manc derby and just now, Dion Dublin (ex Villa) is in the seat for Villa v Everton on 5Live. Problem is for me, as much as these lads may try - they can't try hard enough to hide their inevitable bias, to favor their former sides. Whatever happened to genuine impartiality on a game, rather than it being so one-side as it was for our game today v Wolves? old It's not a new thing either - I also remember Sky bringing in Niall Quinn to do the job when we played the mackems in the past. Am I becoming an old grump in my old age, or do others find this a turn off?
  18. Has Eddie said owt, post match?
  19. No problem with getting the ball wide (for me), but it's got to be done quicker as well as the wingers not looking to either come back inside and/or pass the ball backwards. Get the ball in the fucking box!
  20. Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Villa seem to manage 3 games a week - so why can't we? Same thing happened last time we were in the CL too.
  21. Has a job on here, given the away form. Lack of ideas and looking totally insipid, bar Everton and Burnley. Not good enough.
  22. Well - positives - we didn't lose and it's a rare clean sheet away from home. That said - really poor once again. Slow, one dimensional, lacking ideas and not for the first time this season. Two efforts on target against a side marooned at the bottom of the table, is really pish. Maybe's they have one eye on PSV on Weds night, but a return to Europe next season looks a fucking mile off at the minute. MoM - probs Lewis Hall. He at least tried to be positive.
  23. If this continues, I can see Wolves pinching one and getting the win.
