Coming towards the end game for Eddie, I think - particularly if we are unable to bring in new faces in Jan, and he can't sort out the issues defensively and our consistency. Mid-table finish won't be good enough for PIF come May, This squad may well be broken up then and someone else brought in.

Kind of coming to the realization that Eddie has ran his race at Newcastle. A mid-table finish this season won't be acceptable to the owners. It all seems to have gone stale. Pressure is on him and the side to deliver in the cups now.

No - there was one v Charlton a few years later (am sure) Was with the ex at the time - wasn't for the Southampton game, but I do remember that one.

Brilliant game against probably the best side in Europe at the moment. We battled and competed well - Isak looks back to his best - Gordon's goal will have done wonders for his confidence and Tonali was excellent in the middle. Thought the scousers had the run of the ball mind, but that's what you get when you are top of the league. Happy enough here.

Is Carragher due to do the match tonight? Will be a scouse love-in if so - we'll be just making up the numbers.
