Happy with the point, just a shame we couldn't hang on in the end. For all their possession Sunderland created nothing and got the bit of luck. For us, they all battled hard and Colo was outstanding. Eric Gates could have very easily been a black and white, had Jack Charlton shown more interest. Fee was agreed with Ipswich, but I remember Gates saying later that Charlton didn't seem that fussed, so he signed for the mackems instead.
