  1. It's gonna be close, Dave and a class end to the season.
  2. Big Geordie

    Papiss Cissé

Magnificent goals from a magnificent player and he's ours. A new black and white legend is here and he's already started writing his story.
  3. Magnificent performance, win and world class goals. I remember listening on the radio to our last league win at Chelsea, back in 86 (the days when you only got 2nd half commentary on Metro) - I was 13 at the time, so it's been a long wait. So typical of Newcastle United to get stuffed at Wigan and then pull off a result like we have tonight. When it comes to NUFC, 'Love is the Drug'.
  4. Terrific first half after a slow start. More of the same of the 2nd please. Radio Newcastle say Mata and Essien warming up at HT.
  5. Lads - is Football First on Sky tonight and if so, what time and channel?
  6. Just heard the home fans sing for the first time in the match.
  7. Looks like we've made another slow start. Already a couple of chances to Chelsea.
  8. Happy enough with the side. We must have a go tonight - nothing to lose!
  9. Nice one, mate. Gonna read now.
  10. In the end, I think the win didn't matter, but we could have still went down had we lost and other results went against us. Am sure there will be some old timers who were there that day. I was there for the Pompey game the week before, when Ned Kelly scored the winner. Was bedlam in the Scoreboard when the ball hit the net As magnificent an experience of celebrating a goal being scored as I've had in 30 odd years of following this lot.
  11. Hoping that a few of those lads will sign on with Blyth, to mount a promotion campaign from The Unibond for next season. Gate and Brittain would be great signings. I guess there is going to be some big investment at Gateshead this summer if they have shed so many?
  12. On this day 20 years ago, was when we won 2-1 at Leicester City, which clinched our survival under KK. A goal from Gavin Peacock and a last minute own goal from Steve Walsh got us the win. I remember being glued to be radio that day, being in real fear of us being relegated. The relief that was at the final whistle was immense. Christ knows what is was like for those who went down there, but I've heard plenty 'stories'! 20 years - is it really that long?
