  1. Can't do anything as a striker if you don't get the service. Been non-existent today as it was v Stoke.
  2. The inevitable return of Joe Kinnear by Xmas. You heard it here first!
  3. No. Routledge on for Loven and Guthrie inside to join Tiote and Barton. Unless of course you want the team to concede even more goals, then yes, what you said. Who is going to support Carroll then?
  4. The team is just soft, period. Really wish Hughton had stuck with 4-5-1. We are not good enough or strong enough defensively to play two strikers upfront, partiularly when Loven isn't exactly the sort to get involved in play at all.Well, everyone was moaning about wanting 4-4-2 ... voila. Aye - because 4-5-1 was working at home? He had to change things - just a pity the players are letting him down.
  5. Gonna need Routledge on for Guthrie at HT here - at least to give us some pace down the right. Not really Guthrie's fault as he'll be well short of match practice. Gonna be a long season I reckon.
  6. Looks like the change in formation/personnel has done absolutely zip all. We are still one paced according to Radio Newcastle. I've barely heard Lovenkrands mentioned so far.
  7. Still early days - but things aren't looking great at the moment.
  8. Top-toon - we are going for a win with the formation that Hughton has picked. Routledge has done nout for the last 3-4 games, so perhaps a spell on the bench will give him a kick up the arse. Good impact sub to have as well. Wigan apparently retain the ball very well, so it's important that we score first.
  9. Nice one, Hughton. Good to see him abandon the 4-5-1 in favour of a 4-4-2. Just hope it comes off.

    Sports Direct

    In a word - horrendous.
  11. Aye - he'll be playing at the weekend.
  12. Any word on how Ashington are doing against Droylsden in the FA Cup?

    Siege Mentality

A siege mentality didn't work for Kinnear, because it's what he tried to instill from the off. Doesn't always work.
  14. I thought Shola battled well on his own, given his awful lack of support. I know Nolan was playing deeper, but still.
  15. Looks like I got my pre-match prediction right. Just such a pity that ultimately we've been ripped off by a referee, Never a penalty for Tevez's and a stone-waller for the foul on Shola in the 2nd half. Thought we did really well but just not our day, which is compounded by the injuries to Ben Arfa and Colo. Have only seen the tackle by de Jong from one angle - bad challenge or fair? Either way, I imagine Ben Arfa will be out for 6 month so I imagine Mike Ashley will be a relieved man (not having to fork out the £6million to make the deal permanent after 25 games)
