  1. The fact is, every country has a different approach to football. For some reason, the US one seems to piss a lot of people off.
  2. Irrelevant. Even in rich countries the best players grow up poor. Rich people are fat. ..and the fattest are americans. ps You think we'll see more of Appiah? Plenty of poor people in America and every other Western nations. The key s to get them in rich people's facilities when they are in their teens so they can polish their games. It's something we definitely don't do enough of in Africa. I'm not talking about poverty. I'm talking about the iconic view kids have of footballers in Brazil, in England, in Spain. You go into school and talk about it, relive it, play it when you have a spare five minutes. Kicking cans in the street. America hasn't got that yet.
  3. I think sooner or later there will be an American player who uses the football as a personal expression in the way European and S. American players do. If they discover an American Zidane, they could become a power. At the moment, I wonder if the point of the sport is lost on a lot of US consumers.
  4. Irrelevant. Even in rich countries the best players grow up poor. Rich people are fat. That's my point, man. That's where the US will never be able to compete.
  5. It's the beauty of football, tbh. You take a piss poor country like Brazil and they are the best in the world at the game though US soccer must be better funded.
  6. If you're not watching Muse pretending to be Queen, World Cup 100 Greatest Moments is on 4 again.
  7. For a team that is easily 50% very average players, the States do very well, tbh.
  8. Aye, but sadly it's the only one that isn't played almost exclusively by Americans. Good luck in the tourney, England. And you can fuck off. I was right behind you in that match and you let me down. Never again, Michael. Never. I told them to win it for Keef, they replied with some salty language about a jacket and such and such is a traitor to his personality group. It all got very ugly, man. Those compartmentalising motherfuckers.

  11. Gyan's a beast, like. Let's get him in.
  12. Chuffed that Appiah is looking fit and playing well.
  13. Sorry, Mike lad. Two defensive ricks, I'm afraid.
  14. Nowt between these two teams, tbh. Both equally average as fuck.
  15. Plenty of time still. Expect the US to equalise, tbh.
  16. US sub already. Fuck, Michael.
  17. Outside the box and at the near post.
  18. They're right. Shocking keeping.
  19. Jesus Christ, Mike. Your boys are taking a whuppin' here.
  20. Forget it. I'm sure this has been argued a number of times with Ronaldo. He has his pin-ups, that's that. Move on.
  21. Did it seem to anyone else that Mick McCarthy was calling Jonathan Pearce 'Mark' during the first half?
