You'd soon get over that. Really kind of miss him thinking about it. Loved how in early 01-02 season he would often just pick the ball up before the midway line and just start running past everyone like a mental case with a ball. His finishing was poor at first but just got better and better. Like I said in another thread, he's one of a few players who's noticeably improved every season.
-
Only his attitude which prevented it, tbh. If he'd have kept his mouth shut THAT season, he'd have got a move in the summer to a top club instead of getting hounded off to Celtic.

Has a paper used the 'Moat-toon' pun yet? Or are the saving it for the day it goes through?

Jay-Z praising the groundsmen: I got 99 problems but the pitch ain't one.

What is 'well-run', though? Do we want to be financially prudent in the West Brom sense where lack of investment usually results in a return to the Championship? They're often applauded for their caution, but ultimately, as a result, they'll never be a secure PL side. It's a balancing act. However, it seems Moat is the only way out for us, so it's not like there are other options available to us. If West Brom had the fanbase, revenue and 'pull' that we will have upon (hopefully) returning to the prem they'd be a lot better off though, and could probably look in invest enough that they'd stay up. But, as you say, it's very tough to do. There needs to be prudence at some level but there also needs to be an appetite for risk to incorporate ambition and the ability to establish in the top league. The longer you're in that league the easier it gets with each successive season mind. Oh, I've no doubt that we are capable of self-financing ourselves to be a mid-table PL side... given time. It's the next two seasons that are my primary concerns. Whichever way you look at it, unless Moat has pots of cash or a very friendly banker, promotion is a gamble.

Tbh, no one knows nothing at this time, so it's pure speculation whether or not we'll have transfer funds in the summer. We're told (by certain mysterious figures) that he has financial backing from some rich American fucks. Nee-one knaas owt.

Or Xavi and Iniesta. Pfff. Gerrard and Lampard are absolutely top-draw, comparable in terms of quality to those two, imo, if different in style. Different styles yes. But I'd rather have those two in my team ahead of Gerrard and Lampard any day. Especially with how important keeping possession is in international tournaments. They could run rings around Gerrard and Lampard when it comes to a short, crisp passing game. True, they are probably more suited to international football.

Someone tell me if I should get excited.

Basically. But if it helps build a winning team, fair enough.

Honestly think our keepers are shite. Where's that Almunia call-up?

Bent should get in--no doubt in my mind. Is Carlton Cole any better, honestly? Or Agbonlahor, tbh. I think our squad compares quite favourably to Spain's, tbh, but we haven't got anyone close to Torres or Villa.
-
Noticed how Bellamy is no longer bitching so much about having to play on the left, the silly twat.
-
Some of his passing made Barton look decent.
-
Enjoyed that game. Think Villa looked pretty solid at the back. Bellamy was the best player on the pitch, though, tbh, and has been in most of Citeh's games I've seen.
-
Think Skrtel's shit, tbh. Every time I see him plays he insists on throwing in three or four complete howlers.
-
I can't see people being bothered to make the effort to go and watch it really, it's a meaningless game, might as well just watch Denmark vs Sweden on ESPN, big derby and the teams are playing for something. To be fair, it's the type of game I'd only watch at the pub.

They'd have no choice if their hybrid mind inhabited the same physical body. -

Can't we perform a mind-meld in this day and age? The best of both worlds, then. -
to cut his losses ? When we're 3 points clear and favourites to become a Premier League club? Seems more like cementing his losses to me. Because he's managed to alienate a entire city?

Well you say that, but Sheard wins the Googlefight http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/9215/fighte.jpg I never said the methodology was perfect! but Hitlers dead so he can't buy the club anyway! Plenty of money, though.

It's worth seeing yourself. I'm sure it'll turn up.
