  1. Nat Phillips is solid but zero pace, which is the opposite of what Howe wants.
  2. Saw that yesterday but chose to ignore it existed! We are going from Botman/Carlos and Haidara to Nate Phillips and Alli to Dan Burn and Ross Barkley then to the championship. Ok knee jerk over. So much paper talk and unlikely many people have any clue where we are at or who we are close to. All part of the ride!
  3. Going to be amazing when the window slams shut and we don't get Carlos, but Monchi is announced new DoF. Passed the audition.
  4. Nat Phillips wouldn't be the worst fall back. (Linked in daily fail on loan) Not the pacey CB we want but has done well in the league. Could see it being a fall back for sure.
  5. Probably the best chance to cash in on him for this kind of money with him 29 in a couple of months. On the flipside he could be the difference between them pipping Real for the title or not. I wouldn't want to sell and distrupt their momentum either. Maybe the 5-10m depreciation selling in the summer is worth gambling on. That said, having a pissed off player in the ranks that knows he is leaving in the summer isnt great for squad morale either.
  6. While I think this is just either brinkmanship or BS. It's a good move. Especially if we really do want two CBs in. Show clubs we will walk. Go get the other one now. Just forces Sevilles hand come deadline day. Still think he will be ours.
  7. Dan Burn here we come!
  8. Could be that too. Players like that are always in high demand and not lacking suitors either way.
  9. Yep! It is chaos at Watford, worse at Everton. Norwich have some consistency but might not have enough quality, likewise Burnley. Like the latter two we might lack a bit of quality but our camp is absolutely united together, fans, ownership and staff all pushing in the right direction with positivity. Hopefully we pull away and before it goes down to the wire!
  10. Everton fans? Seems like its Pereira the board want. Could end well if thats the case! Edit: Apologies, just saw this, if this is what you were talking about https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/everton-pull-away-naming-vitor-26038340
  11. Nothing to say they don't spend before window end too.
  12. Huge pressure Everton getting their appointment right.
  13. Hodgson will just be in it for the short term. They would appoint someone new in the summer whether they stay up or go down. Can't see Woy wanting another full time gig tbh.

    Jesse Lingard

Alli was always a go to on Fifa career mode. Was proper gutted we lost out on him to Spurs and the proceeding 6/7 years that rubbed it in. While we desperately need a DM. Alli would be like Wilson, one I have always wanted here.
  15. Whole transfer window has been Bakked up to be fair.

If he comes and we stay up he will likely be a big part of that. Think he will be totally up for staying at that point. If not, who cares. We will buy someone better. If we go down. Fair enough. World Cup year and he needs to be playing top flight to get into the England squad.
  17. Given how crazy the year has been for covid and injuries, actually a little surprised we didn't get a bunch in that could be registered by Feb 1st. Think all hands have been on trying to improve the first team. U23 and down will be overhauled one way or another in the summer.
  18. We only need point them to our track record of sending shit players to Spain and them flourishing like Joselu. Think of the profit they could make off Clark or Lascelles. p.s. don't mention Muto.

Pretty inconsistent. Also said late last night Bakker was pretty much done other than player terms to be agreed. Could still be true, I guess.
  20. Worth the longterm gamble and could play off Wood or Wilson. Feel like Zapata would be more of an instant hit now, Nunez would be a bit more of a risk but far higher long term reward. He is on fire this season.

Take the Newcastle favouring journo's quoted price and the anti Newcastle journo's price and meet in the middle. That is where the undisclosed fee will lie.

    Joelinton

It seems like it is a long standing niggle/injury from what Howe said. While Howe didn't say this, it sounded like something that might require some surgery at some point but he has been able to manage and play through for now.

    Joelinton

He overthinks and has more of a mental block the nearer he gets to the Penalty box. He seems more comfortable in the middle of the park, like the pressure is off in his head. He was doing very similar things when playing further up the pitch, control, short passing and hold up play was there. Definitely just seems more suited playing in midfield. Hope he stays there and Howe isn't tempted to try him further up the pitch again if we get a DM and CM in.
