Goal attempts 22:1
Shameful
We've had a negative goal attempt the second half? I remember we had two after the first half.
-
both Liverpool goals were illegal btw.
What's wrong with the second one? The first was a clear offside, of course.
Edit: read the above: a Scouser blocked off Beye.
-
Positives: we're better than Blackburn were. Actually had a couple of attempts on goal.
Negatives: we're still going down.
-
"Taylor would be world class by now if people like Bramble and Boumsong hadn't held him back"
No one has said that this season.
One cliche which has been eradicated is:
"At least the System has been a success."
-
He's starting to look like a real footballer now. Had an excellent game, MOTM (like he was on Monday against Bodø/Glimt). His crossing is much improved.

Here is a link to that article that predicts Newcastle will stay up: -
Actually, that list is clearly outside the scope of a copyrighted fixture list, as that depends on a (few) specific format(s), and the list is only quoted in part in the article, and commented throughout, which is considered "fair dealing".
Of course, the idea that a fixture list can be copyrighted is shady as hell, and the European Court of Justice basically told the Premier League to go fuck themselves when they wanted to extend the copyright claim to the fixture "database" (and thus the data). Here's a fun read (scroll down to Judgments on the Fixtures Marketing lawsuits). That said, it's far too expensive to protect one's rights against the abuses of rich people (British law is especially skewed in favour of the rich as they don't have to prove anything to take down a web site), so it's better not to post any two or more fixtures together at all, for the sake of the Newcastle-Online.

Dont we get like a 20 million payment if we go down?
Straight in Fat Mike's pocket.
Give it up man.
He hasn't taken anything out of the club... unlike his predecessors.
I wonder how much that sportsdirect.com advertising would have cost if he had to pay for it. And while he may not have taken money out, he certainly hasn't put any real value into the team.
-
We haven't beaten Boro at home since 2004, and this time we draw most games. Anything could happen, of course, but 1) we're shit, and 2) that's it.
-
I see one flaw in your predictions, Chase: You predict us to win.
-
Agree everything appart from alluding to Milner as a good player, and suggesting that we miss Zog.
Milner has shown for Villa what a good player he is,as for Zog...he has potential, the fact is though that neither have been replaced, and an already thin squad has gone to anorexic proportions.
No he's shown that in a very good team with excellent movement and a massive beanpole to hit his awful crosses at he can be decent, he was shit for us though because he's simply not good that good.
Milner had one poor season for us, when Allardyce had him on the left wing whipping in right-footed crosses our midget strikers couldn't do anything with. Under Roeder the season before that, he was our best player, and he didn't play like under Allardyce.
And his crosses and end product are far better than those of any of our current midfield players. He's a better player than Jonas.
-
Am I the only one who is quite happy to have Duff in the team? At least he has a bit of energy and trys to get attacks going.
(waits for reply saying 'yes')
He's a good player, but I wish he could just cross the fucking ball into the box instead of trying and failing to get past his man and then pass backwards. A poor cross is worth more than no cross; at least it puts the defence under some pressure.

I wouldn't have left, I would have (as I have done at work) FAUGHT the ba*st*rds from the inside, till I dropped.
Would you have just left?
Bearing in mind you are supposed to love the club (like Keegan said he did). Would you have left?
I wouldn't.
Clearly he did fight them from within, as Llambias has admitted to saying he wanted to punch him. Sadly, he wasn't in a position to win, as all the actual power was held by the Spurs fan and the West Ham fan.
-
Yes, you are correct.
But - none of the others you mention (Ashley, Lambias, Kinnear) love the club the way we do (or even care about it at all) - but Keegan is supposed to . . . isn't he?
. . . and he left.
Of course he did. He signed on as a manager and found out he wasn't allowed to manage. Not only didn't he get the players he wanted, he didn't get players in the positions he said he needed. He was a coach. His job was to train and motivate a random bunch of players and spread some false hope to make sure fans were lured into buying season tickets. Why the fuck should he want to be a part of that?
-
If Keegan had stayed with us, we would not be in the trouble we are now.
Of course not, but how the hell could he predict Ashley and Llambias would solve their problems by getting Joe Fucking Kinnear as an interim manager, then sell Shay Given and N'Zomnia and sign Kevin Nolan and Ryan Taylor? They couldn't possibly have handled this any worse if they tried.
It's all their fault.
-
If only Keegan was backed I don't think we'd be anywhere near the bottom 3.
Indeed. If only he had that spine.
As if spine is what it takes to work under these cretins. You hardly even need a heart.
-
beat boro and we'll stay up on GD.
As if that is going to happen:
2008-02-03 Newcastle United - Middlesbrough 1 - 1
2007-03-03 Newcastle United - Middlesbrough 0 - 0
2006-01-02 Newcastle United - Middlesbrough 2 - 2
2005-04-27 Newcastle United - Middlesbrough 0 - 0

Just a word for the Butt haters - the last 20 minutes were a complete waste of time because we couldn't get the ball - guess why?
It could it have something to do with the fact that the team does not have enough athletes in it to last the pace.
Butt is one of the worst in this department BTW.
Butt isn't much of an athlete but he does have the anticipation needed to break down opposition, and he always makes himself available when we're in possession whereas the other players, bar Duff, Jonas and Enrique, go hiding.
-
Just a word for the Butt haters - the last 20 minutes were a complete waste of time because we couldn't get the ball - guess why?
Because Butt is useless even as a free space for the opposition players to run across.
-
Positives: Smith is better than Nolan.
Negatives: Even Smith is better than Nolan. Also, we're going down.

"can i have 0.4 of a litre of bitter please"
"hello mate, coming out for 0.4 of a litre later ?"
Well..we usually call it "a beer"
And many pubs don't sell any type of beer but lager, anyway. If you ask for a bitter, you risk getting a Schweppes.
-
Just done the predictor and got this
Mackems 38 -19 39
Us 38 -16 37
Pompey 38 -20 37
--------------------------------
Hull 38 -28 34
Boro 38 -35 31
West Brom 38 -37 28
Doing it with a maximum of wishful thinking, I managed to relegate both Blackburn and Sunderland.
-
Nile Ranger vs Wigan reserves.
-
I think that's a misconception. Butt and Nolan aren't any quicker and don't do any more running. Geremi might run out of gas a bit quicker (debateable) but in a 4-3-3 he wouldn't need to run as much.
Butt runs quite a lot. His problem is that he's slow and lacks the energy to sprint back when he's needed in defence. Geremi has the same faults but doesn't run much at all. He's better at passing, though.
-
He's not an attacking threat, though. And he rarely passes when there is an opportunity.

I know we're all supposed to love Bassong, but he didn't do his job when Kuyt scored. Also, most people consistently underrate Nicky Butt. He's certainly not great, and his passing can be atrocious, but he made many crucial interceptions and was far better than Smith and Løvenkrands. (Although, to be fair, he fucked up the offside trap for the third goal.)
