  1. Sean, she was the bloody CEO and figurehead of the takeover. Did you ask George if he had other sources at RB or PIF?
  2. Any journalist out there who says shit like "the club will always attract interest" can go jump off a cliff. We've been effectively up for sale for an eternity with an owner who bled the club dry, had an insanely high asking price and constantly played games in his efforts to sell in earnest. We finally had a real and willing buyer who even agreed to pay his "retrade" price once exclusivity ended and the league blocked fresh, hungry capital into the club and region.
  3. so for Penn and Glen Johnson over here - you're aiming your frustrations at a journalist who had a line into what was likely our future CEO under new ownership and was telling us whatever he was told - and again, you're blaming him. You're having a go at him. You're wasting your precious time trying to say he should have dug even further into this.
  4. I had a roundabout connection that was close to the Reubens and about 3 times throughout the process they never steered off course of what was being reported by George. For what it's worth.
  5. The league blocked a willing investor in club and region - but their process is meant to protect the member club. Yeah ok. The league only cares about its friends.
  6. Between the two articles in the athletic and the true faith article...wow. Just, shaking with rage right now. This seemingly is 100% On the PL - and their bent structure with 0 transparency and being intertwined with beIn and some of the opposition clubs. Fuck.
  7. Throw Masters and the league into the same bracket as Trump and Mike Ashley.
  8. Aye, seems dodgy how Golfmag’s saying the PL we’re saying ‘oh, we were just about to approve it, honest’, just as they pull the plug. Doesn’t sit right, that. it doesn't actually make any business sense. it doesn't make common sense. the league may have been telling the bidders this for ages (hence the positive tone to Caulkin) and then kept pushing this along as long and far as possible. but ultimately they never made a decision. if they did, if they passed them the bloody consortium would have said that TODAY
  9. The idea that this test is some fucking super strict process to own a bloody football club is rotten to the core. A group of people in a club known as the PL board have successfully stalled the takeover and allowed a checked-out owner with no desire to better the club or city fuck and fuck over the fans. Other clubs in the league care more about their own personal gains of course than a revitalized newcastle untied, and those same clubs maybe had a hand in the stall tactics. i'm glad competition for them is more important than say, the city of newcastle getting a lift because of all of this.
  10. There isn't a chance the PL passed PIF/PCP/RB. It would have been clearly stated by AS and in the statement. It was clear that there was literally no timeline or assurances it would ever pass, coupled with MA wanting to likely re-cut the deal with exclusivity ended. MA probably thought they'd never pass anyway and said you can tie it up for X price and X additional non-refundable money. The consortium said, fuck off.
  11. Minhosa[/member] and i speculated about this the last 48 hours, ffs - my worst nightmare happened.
  12. No doubt that someone in the UK gov will be worried to fuck that the Saudi's will hold a grudge and pull out of trade deals.
  13. Genuine question... would it be that easy, or would they have to start the whole process again? I.e. could PIF have just stepped away and PCP/Reubens have just put the cash up (if they had it)? My guess is if PCP and the Reubens told MA they would reinstate the contract or agree at X price, the tests would be done in 1-2 weeks and the deal would be done.
  14. Yep, bang on that was what happened. Time ended the exclusivity. The deal was essentially off between Mike and the consortium. The league also was still no closer to approving. PIF said fuck this, we're tired of having to sit back and take this shit from the PL and its allies (Qatar, other top PL clubs) and the seller is trying to rake us over fire.
  15. was hoping the Reubens would step in with PCP and just do it themselves. Sounds unlikely.
  16. Nope - was the drop dead date mate that killed it. That's what expired imho. The exclusivity wasn't going to be a problem in week 1 when they had 16 weeks to get it closed. But the league allowed for this to happen showing no urgency and allowing a lunatic like MA the chance to find a way to sell to someone else.
  17. DON'T GIVE A SINGLE FUCK ABOUT THE PL AND THEIR BROADCASTING DEAL WITH BLOODY BEIN SPORTS. So fuck off Penn. Fuck off Simon Bird. Fuck off to anyone else who will spout that fucking nonsense on twitter or news or radio. MA finally gave up and was ready to sell, the LEAGUE dragged a deal on beyond the exclusivity period, and their apparent fit & proper owner in MA jointly fucked over this club's fans and the region. What a fucking sad shit defeatist club we are.
  18. So deal expired with Mike. Mike said, pay me more. PIF said no. The league basically allowing this all to happen by taking an absolute eternity to approve the deal; in the end, they never had to.
  19. my ultimate guess is MA is trying to squeeze more out of PIF/PCP and may potentially be pointing at the HM "bid" and the significant amount of time and disruption it has caused him/NUFC due to their approval by the league taking an eternity.
  20. Just FYI - if Qatar loan Maurris the money then it'll show up in the O&D test when they trace the cash.
  21. He did. Which is fucking remarkable. Makes no sense on any level; commercial, moral, logistical or financial. Of course it makes sense. Ashley is a member and a "passed" (fuck knows how) director. PIF are not. The PL has a relationship and obligation to Ashley, not to whoever he's trying to sell to. Nah Chris what Minhosa is saying is that it doesn’t make sense for the club’s attorneys to be the middle person for questions directly related to the acquisition with respect to questions only PIF is able to answer. In theory if Barnes is forwarded or on these correspondence he could easily pass on information (breaking confidentiality) to someone not involved or competing to buy. In any case I’ve been on both sides of deals related to M&A and I’ve never in my life seen a process conducted like this - more so the league wanting clarification from PIF on something, so sends email to MA’s attorneys, and then those attorneys reach out to PIF and so on. That is not market practices imo.
