I like that when there is a dead end or he’s got not much else to do. He’s either figuring out a way to have a pop at goal or he’s looking up to try and get someone a cross or chance to score. He’s not running it end line and losing it. He’s not running up a blind alley and crossing to nobody. He’s picking his head and either saying fuck it let me have a go or let me slow it down and get this ball into the box to player X.

At some point you can’t just keep blaming the system or manager. When the guy is through on goal or has a chance to shoot or pass and he ends up fumbling the ball under his own feet or hit the shot low into the ground to the keeper tamely, you can only look at the facts and this is a player who can’t even do the simple shit correctly in a match. I’d be first to criticize the manager - the system sucks. We can’t retain the ball. We can’t pass the ball when our first team isn’t in; but stop making excuses for a 40m attacker. It’s on him as much as it’s on the club and Bruce.

Want nothing more then Joelinton to be the next big thing and enjoy watching a 40m Brazilian attacker. But it’s never working here IMO. Under Bruce or whoever his successor would be. Joelinton doesn’t have the mentality to rise to the occasion and use his talent. Shame.

He strikes me as a guy who finally had a good season under an awesome manager. He would have probably developed into the 40m player he was billed to be under one more season under the same manager. But instead he joined our club in complete disarray and anger about Rafa. Replacing Rondon. Wearing the 9. Playing for Bruce. I think his career is completely wasted and won’t ever get back on track because he’s missed likely 2 years of the most important years of development. This club must really enjoy paying up front for failures. Moronic transfer policy. I don’t want to right him off but think he’s truly never working here unless we get taken over and a manager makes him a pet project.
