  1. The Santon walk back while the other team attacks his side is atrocious. Happens at least once every single match. It's better now we are more compact but when he pushes on he walks/jogs slowly back. Infuriating.
  2. The universally accepted flop of an 18 year old? Never. He scored 3 goals in 4 starts for them. As a left back at that. It took him plenty of starts before they managed to win a match he was involved in but a massive flop never good enough for Spurs? Get to f***. They tried to flog him to Birmingham but they pulled out last minute due to funds. Was definitely looking at one point like his days could be numbered for Spurs. Bale changed physically and added athleticism and power to his game. He was always very athletic but he added real power to his game and physique aye.

In any case.. he would've been what 19/20 when this happened? He also spent a lot of that time injured. I personally would never take a football pundit/fan seriously if they said xxx 19 year old is a complete flop.

It took him plenty of starts before they managed to win a match he was involved in but a massive flop never good enough for Spurs? Get to fuck. He hasn't proven consistently that he has the same level of ability as Bale. Bale scored more goals last season than Hatem has in 5 years. What planet are you living on? He's more Nani than Bale. Loads of untapped ability that has meant he sits on the bench while more consistent, team based players get playing time.
  5. Like they did the season before AVB joined? They didn't finish above fourth. My bad. They really should have that season.
  6. Reading some of these posts you would think this was Gareth Bale or someone.
  7. Like they did the season before AVB joined?
  8. I don't think so. He's genuinely naive tactically. He's done enough in his career to suggest that isn't the case. Think it might be getting on top of him a bit in the premier league. But he really hasn't. Going undefeated in the league was a great achievement but the Portuguese especially in that season is pretty weak. He's made some of the same mistakes time & time again.
  9. I don't think so. He's genuinely naive tactically.
  10. Performances. Poor, unconvincing to spineless.
  11. Only cooler than cool fans like him. He generally comes across as arrogant.
  12. People are way to blind though, there's some on here who will defend Pardew to death and then criticize other managers who clearly have more to them than him. I don't think he's done a great job, but you don't give a manager that much money and give him 4months. They're only five points behind City, and I'd say only getting Soldado to work from competing for top four. They're ahead of Man U, I get that his football hasn't been working, but I'm pretty sure he's had the most change in a side this season. Chadli, Lamela, Soldado, Paulinho, Capoue all need time to settle. Had it not been for Eriksson, Paulinho and Krul they'd be on a safe 30p already. Like I said, I understand the decision in a way, I just wouldn't have done the same. Like you say, it's about the football. Even when they where picking up decent results they where mumbles about the football. It looks like he doesn't know what he's doing. They've played this season like a side that sold their one man team. Even last season, Bale aside they simply did not impress me. They looked solid enough at the back but otherwise they had Bale win them at least 12 points single handidly.
  13. Capello at least always knows his own mind and won't go from one extreme to another.
  14. I've watched Spurs probably more times outside Newcastle than any other team this season. If when they where flying high they looked very poor. For all of Rodgers BS you can see he has a plan and a vision. AVB is clueless.
  15. Yesterday it was clear that AVB didn't know what he was doing and he looked like a dear in the headlights again.
  16. Getting whooped 5-0 by your rivals in the league though. Getting hammered is one thing. Rarely looking like scoring all season is another. But yesterday the players had no heart. He looked like he had lost another dressing room. Yea, but Suarez in his current form is unstoppable. I agree, yesterday was inexcusable, but unfortunately these things happen from time to time with most teams, maybe more so if you are in a bad stint in a transition period. This season was bound to be a bit shaky, with a whole new squad coming in, and I think they should have given him more time. L'pool are no great shakes away from home. With 10 men they could only draw against us and they lost deservedly to Hull the other week. If you're going to have a team that struggles to score goals, you can't get whooped like Spurs have been. What's there to hold on to? Where's the identity? AVB goes from overly cautious against crap teams to overly adventurous against good teams. If you're a solid low scoring unit - be that. Free-flowing attacking - be that. They are neither. Add to that the players gave up yesterday. Spurs never looked so bad under 'Arry.
  17. I think their points tally last season was the highest in their PL history. The only important stat is that they finished 5th.
  18. Aye, so you would think he would go for a cautious defensive set-up. Nice and deep. Forget an offside trap. What with the pace and movement of Suarez and co. Nope. Really high line. Crap offside trap. Everyone looking clueless. A mess. Tactically naive.
  19. Good shout. Still surprised at what I consider a hasty decision though. You don't revamp your squad after selling your best player and not allow for a transition period. I've defended AVB in the past and thought he'd build a successful team after Bale. Unfortunately he hasn't done anything right, I know they need a time to settle, but his usage of Paulinho is for starters horrible, he's tried him as either a DM or as AM, not used him in his best position which is as a box-to-box player. He hasn't given Lamela any chances and Soldado has been terrible under his set up. I'm not saying it was the right decision to sack him already, but I at the same time I understand why they did it. Same here. Always thought he should be given more time. His time at Chelsea seemed to have changed his tactical thinking fundamentally though and he looked to prefer the cautious approach than getting the most out of his attacking riches. Then he would randomly play a highline against City & L'pool with Dawson and a CM at the back. The man's tactically naive at best.

  21. Based on what? I asked a question, I don't hide behind then if I have something to say. I badly want Hatem in the starting Xl but his contribution to team play simply doesn't warrant the special treatment he gets here, which is partially why he's gained weight and his form has dipped. Powerful posting.
