You never know but Swiss is the most organized team of football I've seen in a long time defensively. Hitzfeld has worked magic with them defensively. I'd guess u2.5 goals would be the best bet, but it's the World Cup. They might lose 5-0 as well. I really liked the look of Ecuador when they played us, and generally the times I've seen them in the past year or 2, I think they're a dangerous opponent. No world-beaters, yeah, but I think they'll cause them problems, albeit appreciate Hitzfeld is a hell of a coach to have and it'll be tough. Also think it'll follow the trend of an open World Cup so far and while I don't think it'll be 4-3 or anything, I think 1-1/2-1 Switzerland is very realistic.

NPW. Anyways, good win for Ivory Coast. Thought they looked very good throughout in the midfield part but lacked defensively and when you have Kalou and Gervinho the finishing ability to kill them off early. Yaya got better with the game and Drogba brought the spark by just stepping onto the field which in the end helped them turn it around. Still think Colombia will be a tad too good for them, but who knows, maybe Colombia has an off day next week.

Yep. The old guard of Gerrard etc. weren't good enough in their prime but they're doing a nurturing job and like you say 2016 onwards should be even better. If this squad is being thrown together for 2016/2018 in mind then Gerrard shouldn't be in the squad. You would run the risk of ruining the young uns without an experienced nucleus guiding them. Love all of today's fixtures. Colombia vs Greece and Ivory Coast vs Japan are the quintessential type of world cup fixtures. Finding myself thoroughly enjoying this tournament, much more than any other as far as I can remember (probably since USA 94). It's been beautiful so far. Hoping for a good game.
