Villa hits the other post now. Unbelievable.
-
Pinto Barcelona might actually lose the game in the next 5 mins. Atletico all over them.
-
Busquets, Mascherano and Dani there. Jesus christ.
-
Completely shit defending once again. How can Mascherano after this many matches of CB still not understand the fundamentals of defending. Unbelievable.
-
What a start for Atletico.
-
Atmosphere is mental at the Calderon. 1-0. Atletico

Was pretty funny tbf.

Sorry to say it but hope they run over you totally like 6-0. Can see you guys getting a goal and winning it though considering how football is so unfair at times.

I moncur That's a ridiculous sentiment (the joke aside). I mean Pele spouts unbelievable amounts of shit, doesn't mean I'll lose respect for what he did on the pitch.

Aye...it was all part of Pardew's lull them into a false sense of security for 70 minutes tactic and then attack for 20. It was a genius masterplan for two reasons. 1) When the 70 minutes mark came, Benfica would be completely surprised but be too tired to do anything about it and 2) We would conserve energy for the next league game despite it being an unimportant one against whomever. Simple but f***ing ingenious. It's the reason why manager of the year accolades were bestowed upon him. Don't get me started on the stupidity of that whole charade A lot of people defend that tactic on here though. -
Mole Hope that's true, think it'll work.

Going to be a tight game, wouldn't surprise to see it ended by an odd goal in the end or penalties even.
-
Hope Neymar scores the winner. Only Barca player to have scored against them this season. Costa is also injured for another week or so I think.
-
Also Peps team Just knows his team is too good not to attack all out.

Atlético's XI: Courtois, Juanfran, Miranda, Godín, Filipe, Gabi, Koke, Tiago, Raúl García, Adrián and Villa Barça's starting XI: Pinto, Fàbregas, Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Neymar, Mascherano, Bartra, Sergio, Alba and Alves

You've outdone Kaka. Congrats. It's an amazing post tbf. Contender for post of the year in these parts of the forum.

Kaka, DJ_Nufc and Mole have a tendency to create 200gaps between each sentence. Can't let that enter-button go can you guys.

A modern striker running with the ball from midfield and scoring on a regular basis. I mean, right now it seems like he's doing this simply because he hates the strikers he currently has on his books Can't say I agree with what you are saying. If you are telling me that's the job of the modern striker then I must've completely missed football over the last decade or so. Hazard, Oscar and Willian do couple of things better than others, and it's not that they do the job of a striker. All three players have an immense ability to put pressure and work up and down the pitch defensively a part from all being technically excellent players. In a team that lacks a prolific striker you'll always have midfielders who must score. That doesn't mean they do the job of their striker though, they're doing their job as midfielders and in Mourinho setup the job of his type of attacking midfielders, if he wanted a winger to operate as a striker I could see him starting Schurrle infront of Willian and Oscar, two players that don't score much but are vital to their system.

While I don't see the point is of Kaka's post, I don't agree that he makes his attacking midfielders do the job of a striker. Seriously, what are you on about? Job of a striker in what way?
