WTF are people going on about? French League 5th best in Europe? Oh dear me
-
Heard theyve only made a bid so far, thats both in Swedish/Brazilian press as well as in the sky italia website.

Jose Pablo Guerrero linked with Corinthians today. I do understand many on here dont think much of him, but hes a decent goalscorer and one of the bigger players in Peru as the Brazilian league continues to sign the best from their neighbouring countries. Palmeiras also offered the chance to sign Riqueleme who still has it in him.

City shirts are so simple and class. Why dont we get anything like it?

Youre overestimating the quality of defenders in Brazil. Forlan will do just fine.
-
I like Forlan, he is getting old and obviously on the decline, but like Seedorf he has always dreamt of playing in Brazil since his father was a very good defender for Sao Paulo in the earlier years. I think him playing in Porto Alegre for Internacional which isnt far from Uruguay will help him feel at home and hit the ground running which he must do at this age. I still think he has some football in him, otherwise just like Seedorf its another big name to a league growing stronger and becoming interesting every year. This mean players will stay here for longer if the same things keep happening. Ronaldinho, Seedorf and Forlan, no matter how much theyre on the decline, their big names attract interest.

I ''laffed'' so much at all this. f***ing hell. Well played.

Even before he won the World Cups Best Player a bit less than 2 years ago?

Maybe because even Afonso Alves managed to score like 50goals in your league in 2 seasons.

Forlan on his way to Internacional in Brazil. Some really really good names over there now. Especially with them signing the best of the neighbouring countries too right now. Forlan, Fucile, Martinnuccio, Guinazu, Caceres, Seedorf just some foreigners who have all played in their national teams and are highyl respected in South America. This along with the young player coming through like Neymar, Ganso, Damiao, Lucas, Romulo, Casemiro, Oscar and the homecoming of Elano, Luis Fabiano, Jadson, Emerson Sheik, Ronaldinho. Making the Brazilian league more and more respected every day that goes by right now. Hope we can keep them in Brazil as I dont see the reason to going to Europe (outside of Spain and possibly Germany obviously).

Mike, back to the NBA thread. Your opinion of Obertan is fucking shit.

In my time watching the Argie league JMM has been arguably the best/most consistant player. Played v. well against Santos in the Copa games this year too. Check out his golazo against Racing. Ben Arfa esque. Not seen him play, but him with Ganso and Neymar for 6 months might be wanktastic then? I dont really know, the fans love winning it, but its quite a waste, destroys the build up for Libertadores and so on for the big clubs, but for the smaller clubs I guess its very valuable to be able to play the biggest team of the state and see what standard are required.

Was very very good at the beginning of this season if not the best central midfielder for 8-10 games, but his attitude as well as injury problems are not worth the time or the money we would have to spend to get him here.

England had a decent team, Germany had a decent team, Belgium had a decent team, and Turkey had the best team they have ever had. Not saying it wasnt relatively easy, but to say we won it by default is shit. How come Argentina didnt win it? They wouldve played Denmark, or Senegal in the last 16 and then Turkey. I mean you have to take everything into context, Brazil won because they were the most entertaining and best team at the time. Playing 3-4-3 (or 3-5-2 depends on how you look at it) completely changed what teams expected of Brazil. We were excellent throughout and only had real difficulties against Turkey twice because of Rustu completely dominating in goal.

I'm not being funny but you being 3 years old at the time kind of limits your opinion on said tournament, players and indeed your own national side of that era. I was what, 14 or so at the time, and just getting into football, and although the Brazil I saw didn't reflect the legend I was taught about, I knew my football and that was one damn fine side that would grace any competition or era, with some outstanding players. Romario for me is the most natural and instinctive finisher I've ever seen and one of my all-time faves. ? I have seen videos and videos over again of those games, dont know how many times ive seen the full 90 minutes of each of Brazil and Swedens game and couple of others. Latest time I saw some videos were couple of months back, just because you didnt experience the tournament just at the time, doesnt mean you can specifically have a good knowledge of what went on. And yes, I still completely disagree with the 14 year old HTT.

Diego linked with Flamengo. Seedorf signing with Botafogo. Martin Caceres linked with Botafogo. Juan Manuel Martinez who we were once linked with on his way to Santos apparently. Brazilian league growing stronger for every season with the shitload of money involved, the signing of players from other South American countries is promising. Martinuccio, Fucile and so on are very good players.

Oleg Salenko and Letchkov wow, legends those two. Salenko scoring 4 or 5 goals or whatever it was against Cameroon was class. And Letchkovs header against Germany in the quarter finals with his halfbald head. I agree that it was an entertaining World Cup, but Brazil were really boring and tactical just like you said. Parreira-football has always been disliked in Brazil. You writing those names brings me back memories as a kid watching all those videos from the WC 94'. Was 3 years old so obviously cant remember s***, but watched videos of that World Cup throughout my childhood. Baggio missing that penalty was simply amazing or even when he was brought off after Pagliuca was sent off against Ireland, Mexico or Norway cant really remember which of them it was. He was shell shocked.
