Extremely nice article. I rarely get that impression of Scott whenever he has played, seems very selfish at times on the pitch, always nice to be reminded of how ones on pitch personality doesnt always translate to its off pitch personality. Also tomorrow GB takes on Brazil at the Riverside Stadium. Brazil likely to line up with Rafael Rafael ThiagoS Juan Marcelo Romulo Sandro Oscar Hulk Damiao Neymar Only real weak link in this team is central defence even with Thiago Silva since Juan looks clueless no matter who he plays with. Physical defender who has no sense of positioning or technical ability. Whats GB expected lineup?

Definitely, too bad their attempt to sign Nilmar failed. Forlan - Damiao - Nilmar Wouldve been very very dangerous. Botafogo have signed Uruguayan national midfielder Lodeiro, Corinthians have signed Hamburg/Peru Guerrero and also Martinez from Velez Sarsfield. Gremio have built a side witch classics like Glberto Silva, Ze Roberto, Elano and Fabio Aurelio. Random question but is Maikon Leite any good or not? Not seen much of him, but before his injury he was playing extremely well and was scoring for fun.

Can we sign somebody already? We need at the very least Debuchy in. But if we want to give another run for the top 4 we need another striker, Debuchy and another new CB.

Your so annyoing at times. Just cause you couldnt agree that Anderson was one of the two best central midfielders in league for the first 7 or 8 games last season.

What a shit fucking change by Oscar. Cannot believe hes changing Internacional for Chelsea at this time. Oscar had just gotten #10 in the national side, now hes going to Chelsea where he will probably be the 2nd most talented player in the squad in terms of age and potential behind Hazard but it will take time for him to adapt. He is really putting his chances in the national side at risk. I hope he succeeds, but knowing good young Brazilian players leaving for England and being coached out all of their technical ability Im quite pissed at this.

Lucas better than Tiote Fuck Im the pro-brazilian and Im laughing hard at it. Lucas has had what, 6months of DECENT football in England. Been pure shit otherwise in the Premier League and is not much more than a tactical defensive midfielder who is extremely limited in all other areas.

Aye, will be fun watching PSG in a way. Detested Milan because of slow midfielders, but this team will be interesting as hell. Ibra, Lavezzi, Pastore, Menez will absolutely rip apart any team in that league if they can gel fast enough. They also have great central defenders, and decent midfielder in Motta and Bodmer who will balance the team a bit. Also Maxwell will help Ibra settle down fast as they are something like best friends apparently having played in Ajax, Barca and Inter together.

Oh if we got all of them for a combined fee of around £20m Id be over the moon. Although it probably would mean one sale atleast, or the Smith and Lovenkrands of our books can finance their salaries. Wasnt Smith on something like £60k and Loven £20k?
-
Oh, Id take him back anyday for £10m and on those terms with no signing on fee. I mean, £25m for a year and a half loan is pretty good
-
Best replacement. (literally the BEST)
-
Just sign him already. Id be happy with only him, Romain and Bigi as the signings this summer. We are not in the Champions League and I find our team relatively deep if we keep Danny and Xisco comes back. Vukcic, Tav, Bigi and Romain will all get some European action hopefully.

Thiago Silva to PSG done deal. Wow, Im actually thinking of PSG having a big chance of going far in the CL if they get Zlatan too. Jallet - Alex - TSilva - Maxwell Bodmer - Motta Menez - Pastore - Lavezzi Ibrahimovic Thats a really strong 11, along with players like Nene, Matuidi, Sissoko, Gameiro, Sakho on the bench that team can cause a lot of trouble if they gel fast enough.

On the contrary I think he was very inconsistent. Too many games which he failed to influence, but he more than made up for it in the games where he was dominant. How are you supposed to influence a game when there is no one there for the taking. Cabaye ran his ass off every single game for this club last season, he tried the hardest, sure he had bad games, but there is no way he was inconsistent. He and Tiote were usually two-man midfield and dominated some three-men midfield during the season. His position also makes it hard for him to have a good game if there is no movement infront of him or players able to play football (like many times with Obertan on the right)
-
Agreed. The French league has great players and very good team who give many teams a decent run in Europe.
-
I think Cabaye was very consistent last season. He had a bad streak when the team was having a bad streak as well, but to call him too hit and miss is bullshit.
-
WTF are people going on about? French League 5th best in Europe? Oh dear me
-
Heard theyve only made a bid so far, thats both in Swedish/Brazilian press as well as in the sky italia website.

Jose Pablo Guerrero linked with Corinthians today. I do understand many on here dont think much of him, but hes a decent goalscorer and one of the bigger players in Peru as the Brazilian league continues to sign the best from their neighbouring countries. Palmeiras also offered the chance to sign Riqueleme who still has it in him.

City shirts are so simple and class. Why dont we get anything like it?
-
Youre overestimating the quality of defenders in Brazil. Forlan will do just fine.
-
I like Forlan, he is getting old and obviously on the decline, but like Seedorf he has always dreamt of playing in Brazil since his father was a very good defender for Sao Paulo in the earlier years. I think him playing in Porto Alegre for Internacional which isnt far from Uruguay will help him feel at home and hit the ground running which he must do at this age. I still think he has some football in him, otherwise just like Seedorf its another big name to a league growing stronger and becoming interesting every year. This mean players will stay here for longer if the same things keep happening. Ronaldinho, Seedorf and Forlan, no matter how much theyre on the decline, their big names attract interest.
