Just goes to how quickly things change. A few years ago we had 2 teams in the CL final and Serie A was in turmoil. Serie A is still s*** but the PL has dipped in quality drastically since Mourinho and Ronaldo left. Only because those two left? Get out of here.

Cech and Luiz on third goal

No one wants to replace Pardew, and those that want are out of their mind. We do need changes in our lineup and tactics as they havent been working very well. At some point other teams will run out of badluck against us.

Was it fuck? Didnt we start the season horrible and had an ok end to it but were class in between there. Didnt we bum some teams? Spurs comes to mind. But know there was two or three other teams. We built a fortress around St James park under SBR. We rarely lost there, but were pretty bad by our standards away. Was like two different teams. Didnt we also beat Fulham away after a great turnaround? Also only game Ive seen at St James Park and it was a 4-2 win over Everton that season. Was pure class that like. Shearer had a good season and reached 20+ if Im not wrong. Season after was shambles though with Souness coming in and destroying the club. Pardew is and will never be nowhere near any of these two on any of the scales.

OK. Looking at it further I might actually be wrong. Wouldve been 14th last season and then 12th and so on. Points still stands thats its not good enough if we want to make a push for Europe, and we require changes. We have also taken 12pts from 6 which is very good form, particularly considering we have been missing a number of key players for many of these matches (Ba and Cabaye missed 3 and Tiote, Cisse missed 4). But we have played some horrible football bar 1st half against Fulham. We have also conceded 10 goals in two defeats. Last month has been absolute shite to be honest, we have been a terrible footballing side and QPR couldve and shouldve scored twice against us early on. Against Villa we scored and then backed off like at Fulham but were lucky to see some magic from Papiss on his debut. Blackburn are turd and yet we were lucky to get out of Ewood with three points. Our form in terms of results is 10th best in the league I think. But in terms of quality we are as poor as anyone of late, and hopefully its down to Cabaye, tiote, Ba being away, although it has been like this for three months now.

Sorry meant to write relegation battle stats (bottom half stats). And had we been in a relegation scrap I doubt our results would fall our way as they have been. My point is we need to make changes if we want to compete for European spots, which is clearly a dream, but a realistic dream at the moment.

Not sure if that is directed at my post or not, I felt the need to put the last line in as a qualification because of people over reacting. The Pardew out/isn't a good manager mob are pathetic, but the people that respond to any minor criticism with "we're 6th, we're having a great season, how dare you moan" style posts are nearly as bad. Do you think fans never complain, criticise or analyse managers? Are we really worse than other fans in that sense? Even the likes of Man U and City will have fans that question the manager and certain decisions. Start of the season, two Spurs ST holders I know wanted Harry to go for various reasons plenty of people whinging about Fergie after the 1-6 and the 3-0 against us. Ba, Krul and Colo have been superb this season, does that mean when they f*** up or have bad games we don't speak about it, or highlight any flaws in their game? Should Pardew be exempt from criticism or something? I would love nothing more than stability, AP should get at least 2 full seasons to see where he takes us, but there are certainly areas that fans (including myself) think he can improve on. I can certainly see us progressing further under him, if he's backed by the board that is. I agree with your post but lets give Pardew some more time before we decide if he's a good manager. Certainly his career up to now is not enough to suggest he is. He has proven he is good enough to manage in the PL. Question is if he can take the next step with the right set up. We have a very strong potential first XL its all about fitting them in correctly and moving the poopoo away from the XI.

Yes, thats right... You lot must have been ready for murder going off past seasons of Souness, Roeder, Allerdyce, Kinnear. I think people are getting ahead of themselves. Which teams have played good football this season? Swansea? You are completely right. Well argued, I will leave it at that. And apart from Souness I think no manager have had a strong starting line up as Pardew. Hope you directed that one at yourself btw. DrVenkman was just showing how your own words sound. We have 17p in our last 14games. Something calls for a change, thats relegation stats. We are running on fuel we gathered in the beginning of the season. And Pardew is having problem adapting to bad results. We are a too good team to not win, but its up to Pardew to make the right changes for us to go on another good run. Playing Obeshitebulb or Raylor wide right isnt the way to go. Id try Raylor instead of Danny for once against Wolves.

Aye, Cajun, didnt even notice it was the Ben Arfa thread. Was thinking it was the Pardew thread, would be more fitting there. Sorry about that, my point still stands though. We have nowhere near been playing good football or getting good results since Man City game. We are averaging a bit over 1 point per game since that match. We are heavily relying on our great start and need to change before other teams start to catch us. And Dave no, but it shows that the two top teams who were eliminated early in the CL are 12p ahead of 4th place. Rest of the league is really really weak. Yes you are right, like I mentioned.
-
Wrong. Pick your best team. Simpler. If we are a better team with Obertan or Ryan Tyalor in ahead of Ben Arfa then he should just retire, the games up Given our excellent position in the league, there is nothing to suggest that we are a worse team for playing Obertan and Taylor. People seem to think that Pardew is a Premiership manager by chance and that he hasn't a clue what he is doing. If it is so easy to manage a squad of players, I'm surprised that more of us armchair critics aren't standing on the hallowed turfs of Premiership grounds plying our trades. Until something goes seriously wrong with our results - and I don't count the Spurs score at such an occasion, given the standard of football they have been playing of late - Pardew has my complete trust. If HBA is not playing, I am sure that there is a reason. Horrible post. Check our results since Man City game and you will see they havent been good. We have been s**** for a large part of the games since our first lost. Changes shouldve been made months ago. That game was two months ago, we are 6th a point behind 4th. Sunderland who have been the best team ever since Saint Martin took over have made up 3 points. We have lost our leading scorer for a number of those games, our midfield destroyer as well as our best partner for Colo. Yeah we have been s*** tbf, changes need to be made NOW! three months. learn how to count, then argue. Let me ask you, in 14 games we have played since City game, we have taken a total of 17 points (winning 5 and drawing 2) bar the Man Utd games, how do you think our performances have been? Have we been encouraging? Did we comfortably beat any of them? Could we with a little bit of less luck or individual brilliance have lost those games? We also lost 6 matches since the City game, conceding a total of 23goals in those 6 games, almost an average of 4 goals per game. We were also sent out of the cup to Brighton. If you still tell me we have been playing good and results have been great since then and no changes need to be made, especially at the back four then I dont feel the need to ever discuss with you again. Its so ridiculous that most are blinded by the standings, and thinking our results and performances have been great, we are relying on our great start to the season. We have been near embarassing for most part of a three month spell now and we are yet to move Danny to the bench or play HBA on one of the flanks. Oh and this edition of the PL is shit weak, just look at how the PL teams are coping in Europe.
-
I would agree but you can't knock his performances this year. Okay, he looked a bit out of his depth at left back after a few months but in midfield he's disciplined enough to play on the RW, particularly in game where we're not instantly favourites. For example he was great against Man United. I don't think he was great against Man U. Infact I think he was probably our weakest performing player in that match. Even if he was the worst player on the pitch that night, it's hardly a black mark against his name Fair point, well taken. Still don't like the fact he's becoming not just a key player but a bit of cult hero amongst the fans. The bloke's one of the worst footballers in the league in terms of general play. Good post Danny is worse though

Pulis is such a horrible manager, anyone listen to his postmatch interview? tosser
-
Silva had a pretty bad game for his own standards to be honest. Best central defender in the world though, gets almost no recognition outside of Italy. Had Ibra not scored so many penalty goals, Silva wouldve been chosen the best in the Serie A. And Prince scores some helluva goals.
-
Why is he not? Most talented player in his squad just like Carlitos was at West Ham. Not saying Pardew doesnt like good players, he jusv doesnt know how to get the best out of them. Hes a classic english manager who knows and loves his graft and committed players. (which amazes me since he gives Obertan playing time). He clearly believes Ben Arfa has no part to play this season or will get his chances as soon as tiote and cabaye are back.
-
Problem is Pardew is passive and unaware of things. Play three up top like he did with Shola, Best and HBA but this time with a midfield consisting of Cabaye, Cheick and Guthrie and a front-line of Dembas and BenArfa. Demba Ba likes coming from deep so him and Ben Arfa behind Cisse would work magnificently. Problem is, doesnt matter if we have 5 Jonas, we wont be able to support our fullbacks anyways since theyre horrible defensively why not try to use Santon in an offensive manner and let Simpson just stay where he is. No point in falling back all the time as we are not very goo defensively. We need to push forward and play free flowing football with a midfield three who are ocmfortable on the ball. Krul Danny Willy Colly Santony Cheicky Cabay Guthry DemBarfa Demba2 Demba1 Is in my opinion a must against Wolves, should go all out on that shite and badly organized defense they have.
-
Pretty easy for me as well. Think city should have different shorts mind. Yup shorts is the only problem. Shouldve been same colour as shirt, but its pretty easy to tell otherwise.
-
Guthrie can more than good do that job in a three man midfield. However, we need a new rightback and central defender. But I agree with what youve said and Ive been hoping Pardew would change to that. Would give us a free flowing attacking team with a packed midfield with quality on the ball as wella s winning it back. We would be prone to counter attacks and so on, but I believe we would retain the ball so much better.

that city outfit is lush like. Clean as fuck.
