The majority of match day going fans won't call for his head, they have far too much respect for him and rightly so. It's cretins on internet message boards, phone ins and textins that are the ones who haven't a clue. Thankfully a minority. I wouldnt call for his head, but I believe he should never have been appointed. I don't believe he is the right man for the job and I don't believe that makes me a 'cretin'. I believe I have watched football long enough, at all levels to be able to make a sound judgement on the way things are going, and who will be good and bad appointments. I also don't believe looking to the past for a manager, 12 years into the past is a good way of judging someones abilities as a manager. Nobody should get caught up in how much they like someone when judging their abilities in a job.

Smith is a perfect striker in an away game, not in a must win home game. Stupid playing him in these home games against teams like Boro and Blackburn where we need a bit of flair rather than just hard work up front.
-
I agree. Sam should never have been sacked!

Hutton had McGeady in his pocket every time they played an Old Firm derby. He is far too hitty missy for me. Yesterday he was marked out of the game by a St Mirren player on £400 a week. Hardly of the standard we need here.

hahaha! Someone from Wooler. Slavering cunt!
-
Jimenez was in the stand the night of the Stoke game so its not really surprising.

Berwick game Saturday, Newcastle game Sunday. Suits me.

As ive said, only Derby have had a worse result than 3-0 there this season. It could have been alot more the night if Arsenal could be arsed.
-
We were shocking. Other than Derby, thats Arsenals two biggest domestic home results of the season. Its not much to expect a slight improvement. It took 90 mins to get a shot. Unfortunatly, I see no light at the end of the tunnel.

They think they are massive. A bit like Everton in that they take their status as a big club from their far bigger local rivals. There was an Spurs fans phoning a phone in last week having a rant about how Spurs are a far bigger club than us as they win things. Well know your history you cockney cunt! 4 league championships to 2. They think the world revolves round London. Cunts!

Went to Peterhead-Berwick. Was totally shit!

First game was a 4-1 league cup win against Notts County in 1993. Cole got 3.
-
Has he actually come out and said that he's not kept up with the game? All I've heard is that until last night he'd not been at a live game since he quit Man City. I know people who have been speaking to him at the Soccer Circus thing and he was talking about recent games and how different teams were doing and stuff. He probs just said he wasnt watching football to stop clubs giving him job offers all the time.

Started following Newcastle in the promotion season because I didnt really get into football untill I was 8 or 9. Quite late on because my dad wasnt really interested in football back then. I forced him into it by making him take me to game. He loves it now. I was always going to be a Newcastle fan though. Still got a little kids toon top that I had with Greenhalls on the front. Not sure what season it was from though.

It gets people to the ground and they will sell about 500 "King Kev 1" shirts and make quite a bit of money for doing it so its worth it from the clubs point of view. Im down at uni so might pop along.

Not sure if this is a serious post as I havent noticed you before, however.... You would appoint a manager on the basis of reading an interview in a down market tabloid newspaper? Its just a good job you arent chairman. Shearer may be good, but he may be another Bryan Robson i.e. shite.

Why has he been so averse to getting his hands dirty learning the management trade elsewhere rather than farting about on MOTD for the last 2 years or so? He knows he has influence but rather than build upon that he's relying on it. Would learning the trade elsewhere guarentee him success at Newcastle? Allardyce had got his hands dirty in the past and where did that get us? Handling a bigger club is obviously far different from handling a big club, many that have been good at the small clubs has found this out. Equally if Wenger or Fergie took over at Bury or Wrexham there are no guarentees of success, it is a totally different job, Fergie or Wenger maybe s**** managers in the lower leagues. Would you take Martinez who has done well at Swansea? He has picked up experience and cut his teeth elsewhere? Fergie managed East Stirlingshire, St Mirren and Aberdeen before ever going to Man Utd. He learnt his trade at each club preparing him for the next. He even had the experience of getting sacked at St Mirren. People who say 'Why are people so sure Shearer will fail?' Im not sure, I would think more than likely he will be a good manager, but that isnt good enough. Just because he loves the club isnt good enough. We are in a state and need a proven manager, someone who is more likely to get it right than a rookie.
-
f*** Shearer. Why are people obsessed with getting him in? I agree. The rest of the Premier League are just laughing at our fans demanding Shearer. They can't wait to see him fail. We might as well put Barton, Lee, Beardsley or Ferdinand in for the job if we are going to consider Shearer. Bobby Moncur should know better as well!

All I care about it results mate. I don't think he is any more likely to get them than Sam, who would have improved results if given time. Yes, of course Fat Sam woudl have improved us. He was so good at learning from his mistakes, ad his transfers were ace. hahahahahaahahahahahahaha!!! Im not saying Sam was brilliant, but he would have improved us in the end. He is a better manager than Redknapp, doing more with less money. Harry spent shit loads at Pompey so its hardly a surprise they are in the top half. As for mistakes, how can't Harry learn from his mistakes when trying to get Pompey to score a home goal? He spent about £30million there and they can't score at home getting beat off shite like Boro.

My thoughts exactly. If I was a decent manager I would be offended at being placed behind 'Arry in line for a job.
-
I might just go to the Stoke game and shout Shearer for 90 mins with the slackjaws and charvs. I don't even want him, but shouting Shearer seems to be enough to put pressure on a manager.

Im gutted. I feel like I did when we appointed Souness. Another few years of nothingness for us then. Im all with giving managers time, but when they are so obviously the wrong appointment, I hope they fail as quick as possible so we can get round to starting over again before too much damage is done. Only the right manager should be given time, Sam was that right manager. Totally gutted tonight.
