  1. Glad to see Colo made it, had me quite worried all day.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

The breaking up play is no good when we're attacking. Ben Arfa is no good when we're defending... Fantastic outlet for a quick counter if the ball gets to him or Obertan. As is Best, if he can hold the ball up for the midfield/Ba to get up with him. Errm..

Just before Carroll was sold he said something along the lines of.. 'developing a real understanding with Arfa, almost psychic sometimes.' Now Ba reckons only he and Arfa knew what was about to happen. Common denominator Ben Arfa. Visionary.
  8. May have already been posted elsewhere but towards the end of the article it states a deal is agreed for Maiga. How a new French influx has boosted Newcastle United http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15752874.stm
  9. I think a few people are seeing 1-0 results and thinking Man U are off form, but as Dave just pointed out they've had 5 successive clean sheets. It seems to me that the 6-1 thrashing by City was a wake up call to Fergie and he's gone back to basics, no more gung-ho attacking for the moment and keeping it tight. Rooney rarely joins the attack now, more content to sit back and orchestrate. I still fancy us to get a goal or two myself but it's by no means a foregone conclusion. I'd consider them a wounded beast, that 6-1 must have hurt.

Not really. For some reason we never closed down like we can first half, we afforded them too much respect imo. Let him amuse us. He's funny. (the 25 first minutes of second half were just superb and I persist to say that NUFC was capable to rivalise with City today if they have played the first half like they begin the second ) The thing is Ronaldo can be a very valuable contributor when he's in the mood. Some of his observations are spot on when he's not in wind-up mode.

I don't get the subs. Abeid and Santon would have worked just as well as Lovenkrands and Perch. Why give game time to players that have next to zero future whilst potential squad/first teamers languish on the bench.

Never in any doubt for me.
  14. Could have been 3-3 then, no need to be too disheartened after this game.
  15. Can't believe Ben Arfa didn't shoot himself but great pass to Ba anyway.
