  1. Very good, I was impressed. Should make the position his own now, knee aside.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

I expect him to start Saturday. In fact I'll be gobsmacked if he doesn't.
  3. What a fucking free-kick. Cabaye magic against the wind. Shit keeper Man U have
  4. The 11 men of Newcastle United took a well deserved lead against the 12 men of Man U. One of their players, oddly standing out in a blue shirt, seemed intent on stopping the game in their favour at every opportunity - but rarely in Newcastle's. Seriously poor reffing, incredibly biased & stone-wall penalty. Ben Arfa on for Shola - but then less likely to control any long balls. Dilema. Hope we can keep it up. (We'd have beat Liverpool playing like this!)
  5. Right, I'm off to the armchair in front of the TV. See you all on the other side with my match thoughts. Either or

  8. When you talk about Tiote and Cabaye outplaying their midfield it's a fallacy IMO. Teams like Man U and Liverpool don't just have two players to dominate midfield, their defenders join in as well. Why do you think Liverpool took Enrique from us? We're left with their rejects in Simpson and Ryan Taylor. That's where the problem lies in that theory of outplaying them with football. I've noticed a few comments recently over a few games where people are confidently predicting our midfield will be better than theirs etc. but they have to get the ball and have options around them in order to succeed. Watching the ball fly over their heads half the game doesn't realy increase their chances.

    Alan Pardew

Many reasons for not wanting Pardew out, and one of the most significant struck me just earlier today. Steve Bruce is currently unemployed. Hope he uses this Obertan injury to good effect, but it's a slender hope.

Just saw Williamson in Waitrose car park and I bottled it, was going to ask him if it was Pardews philosophy to lump it long but I just walked passed him without a murmur. Sorry lads.
  11. Remind me who our manager is? We've got no chance except pure luck.

    Alan Pardew

What's doubley troubling is he's not going to grow a pair by the next game, is he. (How the fuck do you spell doubly, doubley, they both look wrong to me.)
  13. I could have kicked Simpson right up the arse when I watched the replay. Not for trying to defend - just blocking Krul's options. Pretty sure if Simpson had stayed put Krul would have had it covered.
  14. Poor player. Absolutely useless under any pressure.

shut up man. Too do something he is dependent on 1) receiving the ball, 2) have team mates who donĀ“t lose the ball the second he gives it to them to be able to build up any play He closed players down when they had the ball in his area, and opened himself up to receive the ball but rarely got it when we were in possession. Ignore him man, he's a muppet.
  16. I'd like to make an observation, succinct and to the point. Pardew's a fucking coward!

    Alan Pardew

Only one person responsible for todays result. Pardew bottled it, again. I was wound up by half-time, by full-time I was close to furious with him. Gave Liverpool far too much respect, avoided playing the ball and allowed ourselves to be hustled. The players look like they lack confidence with the ball at their feet, but I suspect it's Pardews instructions. Looks to me like he's trying to play percentage football just like that muppet Allardyce. When Gerrard was getting stripped he should have grabbed the bull by the horns and had Ben Arfa come on at the same time. At least try to take the psychological lift out of that. And even with just Ba up front so many balls launched long, made me want to weep. Don't think I saw Krul release one ball with his hands, everything kicked long resulting in 'pool possession as often as not. Fucking horrible. Most of us thought he was spot on tactically with the win at Stoke, and he was. Has hardly got a thing right since though.

Ben Arfa looked for and found space on numerous occasions, the ball just didn't come to him. I'd be very unhappy with my team mates, and even moreso with my manager. The tactics were shite! We played as though Liverpool were the dogs bollocks and we were scared of them. Krul's distribution resulted in Liverpool possession 80% of the time. (Not Krul's fault btw, instructions.) And so many balls launched long to Ba.
  19. Giroud is very, very far from that value. which striker would you recommend from france? seeing as that seems to be where we are scouting most heavily. Erdinc would be a very good complement to Ba. I was very much hoping we would get Erdinc.

    Leon Best

You would not be incorrect. Such a shame he didn't get a goal or two when he was playing well. Oh well. For Liverpool, I'd rest him. I'd like to see us line up with something a little bit more difficult to defend against with more moving parts and unpredictability. Cabaye Tiote Jonas Ben Arfa Vuckic Ba Off the ball, defensive responsibility would have to revert something more conventional though. [/cloud cuckoo land] Would love to see this tried sometime, I think both Cabaye and Jonas would do admirably covering the full backs and channels when we're not in possession. When we are in possession it has so much potential, (on paper).

Pardew was in Waitrose, Pont this morning, buying a few cheeses I hear.
  22. What's that, 2 assists, a penalty and a goal in 5 appearances as sub?
