  1. Pretty sure you heard one of the Longstaff's in the background noise. Someone passed a crack about not being 2m away and a geordie voice responded with "2 metres away? He's my brother".

  2. I think thats hilarious, the fact the worlds media swallowed it hook, line etc. despite the fact he told everyone who asked permission it was fake. Further proof the world is pretty fucked up and you should just turn your back on social media as its ultimately meaningless. There's millions can't go 5 minutes without checking their phone.

His girlfriend seemed like a good laugh as well.

  3. Anyone worked out who Rich came back as?

Don’t think it’s very secret he already said hello in the welcome back thread

    Hoogen[/member], innit.

Premature esalutation, it seems. Further proof that Dave is the superior being, he’ll only return when it’s done for real.

Not sure he'll ever be back, I think Ashley broke him and he descended into an endless loop on the underground, only getting off occasionally to grab some more #cans  ;)

Nah, I expect the minute its absolute we'll get a return. Kind of admire his resolution to stay away mind.

  4. I would hate Zaha just because I despise his antics so much. But I imagine he's quite a lot less annoying when he's play for your team.

Don't know, I was getting the hump with Miggy when he overplayed it (despite it being an accepted 'art' in Sth America).

  5. Tommy Elphick with a less than glowing appraisal of Steve (via the Athletic).

“But for so long (after) I just didn’t know where I stood with Steve. The bottom line is he just didn’t rate me, but I wish he would have told me that so I could have proved him wrong (by playing) elsewhere.”

All seemed well for Elphick. He was on the bench for the next two games before discussing the future further with Bruce later in January as the transfer window had opened.

“I have the same conversation with him and leave the office with his last words: ‘You’re not going anywhere, you’re staying’ in my head,” Elphick continues. “I said: ‘Great, let’s stick together and get promoted’.

“So then I go and have my lunch, get into the car and my phone starts going off with an unrecognised number flashing up. It’s Mick McCarthy (then Ipswich manager). He says: ‘I want to know where your head is at. Brucie has told me that he’s not having you and that I can take you on loan’.

“I said: ‘Are you sure? I’ve just left his office!’ That was my time under Steve, I didn’t know whether I was coming or going!

“I’d go back and see him and ask him what all of it was about and he would say that he was just trying to do what was best by me and that he was leaving all the options available (as the transfer window was open and he wasn’t playing).”

To tag another little snippet on.

“(But at Villa) I always felt myself coming away from training thinking ‘what are we aiming for here, what are we going for?’ I struggled with that for a bit.”

I guess that's what the players at Newcastle struggle a bit with too. Under Rafa they all, likely, had a sense of purpose and a shared vision, now everything seems rather vague.

    Redknapp: Give Bruce a chance.

  6. Let's see if I've got this right.

Bale in by July 19th and PIF knocked back by June 16th, was that it? Fucking love this club me, never a dull moment - ignoring Bruce.

  7. Atsu was effective enough on the break because of his pace and had some useful displays first season back, as rubbish as he is.

Gouffran was no use at the top level. Got to question Rafa a bit if he genuinely wanted to keep him around.

Be more inclined to question my own opinion.

  8. There’s no real clique man  it’s just a lot of posters who seem to get on well over various topics but if you all look closely, we can all speak our mind regarding others if we feel someone is talking shite or being a cunt. Look at me, probably the GOAT where this forum is concerned, a living legend, and I don’t get any easy ride, in fact I get ripped to pieces (clique cunts), but everyone on here who I know personally and those I don’t, are sound people and you will not find a fairer, more balanced, more intelligent and more honest forum regarding our club and all kinds of other topics. Or a more caring and helping set of Internet virgins. It’s a bit mad when ‘newbies’ are criticising older members/the forum though, come on board, join in, get stuck in and stay around and watch out for certain sharks on here...

Anyway I’m hearing tomorrow is the day of all days, cans out if you love the Toon etc.

As for Nufc.com, they have no real ITK themselves these days but will have trusted sauces and if they say this is on, it’s on, they don’t pander to rumours, hearsay or bull shit.

Have you donated your £200 to charity yet mate?

Offended you even needed to ask... :(

If I’m anything other than a gigantic gobshite, it’s that I’m a man of my word/principled.

/may leave the forum now  :blackeye:

    Third time this year?

  9. Cannavaro: Lorenzo Minotti, our captain at Parma, was a meticulous guy. He’d keep track of all the fines that needed paying and who needed to pay them. He used to make a list. Let’s say I needed to pay 100,000 lire (about £60 in 1998) and one of my team-mates got a 200k fine and so on. One day, he got to Tino Asprilla and told him he had to pay 3 million lire (nearly £2,000)! Tino got up, calm as you like, and ate the piece of paper the fines were written on.
