Not taking anything away from today - my post had nothing to do with today's result. It does seem that some people are 'letting him off', in some respects, for this reason though. To me anyway. I'll shut up though, just for you Diablo. Congratulations Joe on realising that you need to have midfielders on the bench, and that you don't have "LM -- RM -- CB -- RB" as your midfield. In fairness to Fat Joe, he admitted in his post-match interview that he got it wrong against Stoke. I haven't heard many managers say that like, so more credit to him for that. I want him to succeed, obviously, as that means we'll be doing well - but I still don't think he's a "good manager".

If he's holding his ribs how the bollocks did he do his quadriceps!? Is this an assumption or taken from a source somewhere? Also, the abdominal is a group of muscles, not a singular muscle (unless you meant transverse abdominis, which is where he was grabbing at, although it's more likely to be his external oblique) He is doing well though, but I'd be surprised to see him against Spurs unless he gets painkillered up.

Ah well. It lasted the entire 90 minutes at least and it going down for a brief moment isn't too bad when we've basically just had 100 people logging onto the forum at once. Considering the state the forum software is STILL in (we're still sorting out some absolutely major stuff that it's missing, basically, which should improve things no end) I'm personally amazed it's done as well as it has since the move. The problems we've been having aren't server related, they're to do with our forum lacking a lot of what a forum of this size needs (namely an optimizer/accelerator that can improve performance by 80%, having all our images hosted off-site which also supposedly makes a huge difference and the fact that our database isn't fully tweaked yet to work with the forum). The hosts are installing all of that stuff for us as we speak though and they should be in soon. I'd expect SMF errors to be banished with all of that happening. I know it sounds crazy, but we are actually one of the biggest SMF forums on the internet - especially when you consider how many posts we've deleted from here over the years (our archive only goes back to January 1st 2007 now). The biggest SMF forum (redandwhitekop) has 6 million messages over almost 6 years of running, we have around 1.2 million in less than 2 years, so imagine how close we'd be to that size if we'd kept everything since 2005. Just to give people an idea of the scale we're working with here.

What happened? Did we lose it? The server load got to above 4 for a moment there, but I didn't get any SMF connection errors myself...

Credit to JFK for his team selection today, mind. I did worry that Taylor would be back in and that Enrique/N'Zogbia would be pushed out with Duff coming back in too. Jonas/N'Zogbia is our most potent wing combination, Martins/Owen offers the most threat as far as strikers go and the back five needs no explanation after recent performances. Despite Butt's typically frustrating performance from an attacking perspective (he was awful at times) I still think him/Guthrie are the best we can do in the middle at the moment, especially away from SJP.

Fuck off man Hope that was tongue-in-cheek. While I'd like to see Barton in for Butt when he's fit as I think that would be our best XI from a footballing perspective, I think both he and Enrique were very good in the second half. Jose in particular was fantastic. EDIT: Basically I think the team is fine as it is, especially if we're just concerned with staying up - it's been managerial decisions/tactics/substitutions that have cost us recently more than personnel.

Oh... and the server has held up brilliantly as well!!

Hope to fuck Martins is alright. Only negative on what has been an outstanding afternoon. Great result... Mackems back in the bottom 3... back above Spurs... Owen and Martins both on scoresheet... clean-sheet for Given/defence yet again... Amazing. I'm just going to enjoy this moment regardless of the situation the club is in. Everything is alright as long as we're winning games. 3 great goals.
