He's still not the big, bad villain that people are painting him out to be. I was as angry with him as anyone for the way the Keegan thing unfolded, but after taking a few steps back from the situation it has been hard to completely change my opinion of him after one single event like a lot seem to have done. Aye he's made a huge mistake that has been massively detrimental since it happened to the football club and to the lives of all the fans that follow it with a passion, but I hardly think he's sitting around somewhere smiling about how things have gone wrong - and not just because he could potentially lose money because of it. I suppose we'll see if he stays in how he does things or we'll see with the price he sells the club at, but even before this interview I've been hesitant to paint him 100% as the villain. I don't think there's any excuse for the silence before now though, but I am glad he's finally spoken in public about the current situation (even if it's just a little bit.) More can be read outside of the quotes, to be honest, and this Dunn bloke has obviously had a face-to-face chat with him so it can't all be idle speculation.

I'd prefer 11th like! Night-time or day-time? -
I'm sure the interviewer asked him if he saw the incident and this was his reply (sic): "No... umm... yes I did see it... but I think it was not a penalty. I would have to see the video". Something like that anyway.

At least he saw it.

I would like to see us bring in a CM, as I've said on this thread already, but LB stands out like a sore thumb to me. I also think you're being incredibly harsh on Butt and Geremi. Enrique is extremely questionable at times (and that's being polite) and if he gets injured there's not any natural cover there at all. Both positions obviously need strengthening, like, along with RB. To buy two central midfielders before a LB (if things worked like that) would be madness though. -
Nice! Is quality and everything good? Size okay?

Eh? Are you joking? I'd say that's probably the weakest part of the entire team, both in terms of numbers AND quality. Speechless.... two words, central midfield. Barton, Butt, Guthrie, Geremi, Gonzalez and N'Zogbia are all players who would call central midfield their preferred position. Then you take into account all of the other players in the squad who have/can play there. Enrique... the player who would call left-back his preferred position. N'Zogbia can play there adequately, Bassong can play there adequately, but that's about it. -

Don't think Parks has astroturf, the facilities there were good when it first opened but that's years back now. It's worn these days. -
I should add that current times have run it very close though. The club lacks direction now more than I've ever known it to.

Losing at home to Sheff Utd with Rossi and Duff up front is still the worst I've felt in recent times at any one moment.

Problem is that I can't see where that win will come from. Sunday, 21 December 2008 Barclays Premier League Newcastle v Tottenham, 15:00

2-2 Liverpool. So predictable Hull would buckle at 2-0 up.
-
I'm switching on SSN, expect the goals to dry up...

Haven't had a day like this for ages!

1-2 Liverpool. Gerrard.

My decision to bring Agger in for Evra this week (to join Arbeloa in my defence) in the FPL looked bad enough when he didn't start, but now I'm fairly thankful. Still a shite change though.

They need some Alan Smith, badly.

I could see all three happening in all honesty. Upson: Apparently one of WHU's biggest earners, and we all know they're in financial trouble. Warnock: Ince is a twat and if they keep going the way they're going (no win in 10 and Warnock getting played at CM out of position) he might want to leave. Noble: Zola said he didn't want to sell any of his 'key' players - for me that would suggest Upson, Ashton, Bellamy and Green. Noble isn't even a nailed on starter these days and flits from starter to bench. Could easily see him leaving. I don't see why any would sign for us, for starters, and I don't believe we'd have the cash to get 2 of them, let alone 3... then would we pay Upson's wages, etc.? No chance. -

Upson, Warnock and Noble would be very good additions to our squad but I couldn't see any of them happening unfortunately.
