  1. Hasn't been, make a new topic if you can be arsed.
  2. Amady Faye is actually joining Blackburn Rovers... international clearance permitting (he's played for Rangers & Charlton in the last 12 months.) Can't believe that.

£9M surely cannot be right, mind, surely not.
  4. That's me sorted then. Fuck the rest of yous. I'll just type to myself.
  5. What sort of stuff did he say? Seems odd of a man of Lesley's calibre to slate a team he regularly scored against. I think it was because he got some racist abuse from some Everton fans when he was a kid playing his first games. Okay, that was wrong, but football was like that in general then and he used to bring it up at every opportunity in the media which pissed me off. You lot must have really upset him. Poor Les.

Distin was originally a centre-half though, that was his favoured position, it's not exactly the same. Beye doesn't have anything like Distin's pace/height/power either, and I'm not sure if he'd cut it against some of the bigger strikers in this league. It's a decent idea that could probably do with a trial run, but it's unlikely. Wishful thinking more than anything else, which is fair enough after Beye has been pretty damn good here so far. In an ideal world we'd have both, they'd provide quality competition for places and everyone would be fine - but it probably won't be like that.

Give them Stevie Carr back as a make-weight. That would make my day.

As a player, Chimbonda is top-quality, as I've said - but if this turns out to be true then it's a funny one with how Beye has been playing. He probably won't be moved to play centre-half, either, I cannot see that happening despite how he played there against Liverpool.

I like the accompanying photo with that article: http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/4217/chimbondawb0.jpg He'll fit in well up here with an attitude like that towards the press.
  12. Europe? Bright lights of London? Jermaine Jenas? The #27 jersey? Is this a trap, MJ?
  13. Fine by me, I give you good price. To return to Woody though, if Keegan genuinely wants the lad, then I do hope we match Spurs' offer and that Woodgate comes here, naturally. Howay man Woody, you can even keep that daft number "8" you've been wearing on your back if you come here. Fucking Jenas has it at Spurs... but their 27 is free *gasp*.
  14. Aye, it's fair. Boro paid that for him a year ago. If he was worth £7m then, then he'd probably be worth a bit less than that today. But the inflation comes into it. Aye, i know i'm being pretty statistical, but i'd be frustrated if we were to go over the odds and pay £9m for a player that has declined in fitness and quality over the last 12 months. Your self-awareness has made me smile. Is that a compliment? Aye, it's good to be self aware.
  15. Wonder if we'll match that now or not? If Ashley wants to give Keegan a blank cheque, it'd seem a bit silly not to use it to outbid/match another clubs offer for a supposed target. If given the choice, i'd like to think Woodgate would choose us. No doubt in my mind that if he did have the choice, Woody would choose Newcastle. ££££££££££
  16. he's worth what somebody is prepared to pay for him. For me, yeah £7m is a fair price for all parties Exactamundo.

    Level 7

Cock-knobs. Someone was saying on here the other day that Milburn Level 7 is the worst bit atmosphere-wise. Oh well, the view looks brilliant from there. And it'll be fun trying to pick out my old house. It is pretty naff from experience, depends on the game as much as anything. SJH is the daddy. I was up there for the infamous "paper aeroplane" match against Crystal Palace under Bobby.
  19. Would the David Dickinsons of this forum suggest £7M as a fair price for Woodgate, then?
  20. All sensible enough, and my take on the matter as well. It'd be a bit fucking fascist of us to ban fans of a certain team because of who they support... now I know some people will say that's right up our street, but to those people I give a hearty "up yours". Wink.
  21. Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate at the same club, brilliant when both fit, a nightmare most of the time. What a partnership that would be, though, if both were at the top of their fitness/game.

    Level 7

Aye that's the plan like. I've been in the Gallowgate a couple of times this season, though it's a bit of an unbalance and i can't really make a fair judgement - cos one was the Arsenal game, and the other was the City game. I fell in love with the stand at the Arsenal game, but City was garbage. I wanted to try Leazes Level 7 cos that's where the Ultras are so i suppose you're guaranteed atmosphere up there. I'm unsure as to which side of the corner i'm on, though. (Milburn/Leazes) Anywhere would have been great for the Arsenal game, really. If you're Milburn/Leazes, then you're most likely on the right-hand-side of the away fans.
  23. "Off the mark"? That's a major shock coming from the Daily Mail, like.
