Some people are just desperate to get any money in for shiny new signings. he could be a fantastic squad option as he is and so much potential to be a class starter in a year or two and people happy to sell him for what we apparently value Almiron at. Mental
-
Selling him for £20m would be ridiculous. £40m I could be reluctantly persauded but £20m would be daft
-
There’s overpaying and there’s underpaying and being cheap. £2m is an insulting offer when he cost £6m and every report I’ve read suggests ashworth not being in place is hampering your summer
-
All I can go off is the Ashworth situation and offering £2m then £3m for a guy that cost £6m only 18 months or so ago suggests they don’t have much money
-
Fair point. Thing is would anyone be surprised if it’s true?
-
fuckin outstanding. No other manager was approached after the cup final tho apparently
-
If Man City come in for him I wouldn’t at all be surprised if he wanted to go there
-
I said he would too as Southgate was the only likely option and waiting till after the euros would take too long. as I said to begin with absolute shambles. They wanted rid and they’ll quickly want rid again after an inevitable bad run of form.
-
your head is in the cloud man. you think ten hag’s job was dependent on winning the FA cup yet Man Utd spoke to more than 1 manager (likely at least 4) after they won the FA cup. You are miles oot
-
Theres looking for replacements and there is actively speaking to other candidates. You can dress it up any way you want they’ve handled this and treated Ten Hag appallingly you are massively deluded if you think Ten Hag would still be there if Tuchel, De Zerbi, poch or Southgate wanted the job
-
Think we both know Fergie would have told them to fuck off if the touted his job around
-
Not sure I believe that but ok. Reports are Jim met with Tuchel last week https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/06/09/thomas-tuchel-will-not-be-next-manchester-united-manager/
-
Hmm well given that you just touted that cup winning mangers job around about 4 or 5 different managers before reluctantly going back to him coz no one wanted the job then I’d respectfully have to disagree.
-
If he is, he’s doing a fuckin brilliant job ain’t he? couldn’t be any more of a shambles at Man Utd
-
I genuinely thought that too. Masters in delusion
-
Even more ridiculous then
-
Absolutely incredible that they are offering £3m when we paid £4m for him. What planet is they cheap bastards on
-
Aye come to think of it they aren’t going to restrict sales to memberships that cost an extra tenner doesn’t make sense
-
Aye but at least 50% or time ur gonna apply and not get one and still get the points for applying
-
Then everyone applies regardless if they can make it or not. I can only make a few a season but I’d apply every one if that was the system
-
I’d argue days missed is more significant than individual injuries and Newcastle were miles out in front and that doesn’t even include Tonali regardless Man Utd fans trying to justify an 8 place finish is something I thought I’d never see. I’m here for it
-
apart from Coventry scoring a perfectly good last min goal that got disallowed
-
No club had a worse injury crisis than Newcastle and we finished above you. I don’t think Ten Hag is a terrible manager by any means but allegedly speaking to 4 or 5 managers before deciding to keep him on isn’t good and likely won’t end well.
-
You finished 8th. Dont know the stats but surely the lowest in what 35 years?
-
Exactly they were so desperate to get rid of him they started talking to managers before an FA Cup final. Now he stays when they don’t really want him. Can’t be good
