He's currently not for sale.

I agree but we can't keep hanging around for Brentford to do their business. At which point do you walk away? We need to give ourselves two weeks to find an alternative.
-
Do we have three weeks? Surely one at most as you'd want to give yourself two weeks to pivot to another target.

Slot????? How's he a big name😂? Same for Maresca and Amorin. Not one player would have turned us down because of Howe. Indeed, I imagine he has a good reputation emongst players as they've all bought into his style of football. The reason they've gone elsewhere is mainly because of money and I suspect they have seen we're not following the same trajectory as Chelsea, PSG, Man City, etc. Secondary factors would be the training ground and location. In all of my time following the club, we've never had a problem signing players when the money is there and we're willing to pay the going rate. Even under Ashley, where Charnley was criticised a lot, as soon as we had money and were prepared to pay the going rate we had no problem securing Ritchie and Gayle which were big deals for the Championship.

I'm all for being positive but we can't look at this this summer as a one-off; last summer was also shambolic. This is all on PIF, they are the ones to have allowed this to happen again.
-
Their most expensive transfer in the last five years is 60 million Euros.
-
The problem there is that Barca have no money, Madrid seem happy enough to let players wind down their contracts/exploit release clauses and PSG are not spending like they used to. Between those three clubs there has only been one player, Bellingham, bought for more than 100 million euros in the last five years. If he was going to one of them now, we wouldn't be half as bothered as we are about Liverpool.

100%, I thought once we secured Champions League that he'd stay for next season and then possibly be off.
-
Great question, I wonder if it has anything with betting/alcohol companies possibly not being welcomed by PIF? Nothing against that stance but it does reduce our options; I'm thinking in particular of Man City's sponsorship by Asahi who I think might be their biggest Non-UAE sponsor.

We don't know that as we haven't tried or challenged the rules. We've now had decent league finishes for a few years and won a cup. Is there a reason why we can't sign some APT deals at the same level as Spurs or at the very least 80% of the value of their deals? I can't see how we'd lose in court on fair market value. As a basic example of APT, look at the sale of ASM. If you think he was sold for less than his true value, it wasn't a significant reduction. Imagine if the PL had said you could only sell him for £5 million, we'd have taken them to court without a second thought.

Be hilarious if we insisted on Ekitike as part of the deal for Isak.

Mitchell deleted all the files from his time at the club

When looking at the window, the thing that makes it so depressing is that we haven't done any business for two years. Is this the best we can do after two years?

That doesn't mean they don't have the skills. The reason we haven't got our targets has nothing to do with them. It's simply because we are going low with our offers, they're just working within the parameters set for them. If there was anything wrong with their skills, I'm sure the agents of the players we've targeted would easily sort it out. Due to the power vacuum at the club, the issue is who is setting our strategy? I would be amazed if it's Nickson and Andy Howe. Maybe it's the PIF representative on the board or Eddie Howe, we just don't know. There's been a lot of scapegoating of people, Mitchell last summer with Guehi and Trafford and now Nickson and Andy Howe. We should be looking at PIF where we had no money last summer, in my opinion, and they are responsible for the current lack of leadership at the club where we've lost Staveley, Mitchell and not replaced Eales in the past year.

They do look much better in real life, I've had a good few compliments
-
100%, they could have put more money into the club via various loopholes but chose not to. All this waiting for the Man City case to be finalised before pushing through various deals is just not tenable.

I see Wimbledon got planning permission to build on Wimbledon Park. Hopefully bodes well for when we face objections.

Thanks @Kilcline I've just been to the store to return my medium. There were two Large shirts at the back, only shirts left, when I was there. I thought brilliant as the large should have been fine but it's just a very strange fit, at least on me. The large was OK around the middle but the problem is that it's then quite long on me (5ft 10), which looks a bit shit when it's a slim fit. This one's just not for me.
-
I wonder when that shirt will be more widely available?
-
Cool, hope there's more available soon. Think my medium shirt will be delivered tomorrow
-
Do you think large will be all right? Looks like I'll be returning my medium when it arrives
-
Aye, I'm not holding out much hope that my medium will fit
-
Over the moon as I'll be able to swap my medium for a large if it doesn't fit 😅
