I agree with the poster who said it's made up and that's the only reason I'd keep him as you'd think everything will be OK after the ban. If the story is true then I'd get rid as the risk of reoffending again is too great to take.

Arsenal and Man City fans not happy with their move? What's that based on?
-
Which fan bases? Take away the identikit stadiums built by mid-sized clubs in the middle of nowhere during the 90s which our owners would never do then the only club I can think of is West Ham. West Ham was always going to be bad as it was never built as a football stadium. Spurs, Man City and Arsenal seem fairly happy. Also fans complaining, like any walk of life, are always going to make more noise than people who are happy.

Cheers, I heard it as being limitless.

Did I hear right that he also said owners could put in as much as they want at the beginning of the season so clubs knew what they had to spend?

Your own football ability - how good are/were you?

Was Walbottle also Sunday League? Maybe I'm thinking of Montagu Boys? There was definitely three Sunday league teams head and shoulders above everyone else, Wallsend Boys, Walker Central and a third team -

Basically anyone in the Newcastle area who played for one of St. Cuthberts A team at school or Wallsend Boys, Walker Central or Walbottle (I think that's the name of the team) then congratulations you were class. Rest of us, including me, were only average. -
I'd be amazed if a decision hasn't already been made and this is essentially just a PR exercise to justify whatever they do. I've never known consultation where everyone doesn't know what the final outcome will be.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
macphisto replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
For the long-term benefit of the club and chance of winning regularly in the future, I'm leaning towards 3 as the best thing for the club this season as it would give us the best chance of finishing top four again. Players and fans have had a great experience this season playing some big teams which is enough for now and finishing top four would enable us to really establish ourselves as a top team. Fully accept that it's a little bit of a defeatist attitude, what's the point of playing if you're not trying to win etc. but I just think finishing top four again should be our biggest aim as it would transform the club in the long-term. -
I'm not so sure we will see much push back against PIF in future as the Saudi League changes the whole the situation. Liverpool and Spurs will want to have good relations with PIF because in the grand scheme of things they are an excellent business partner to have where you can get rid of the players you don't want for good money. Liverpool would have been over the over the moon to get over £50 million for Henderson and Fabinho. Next summer, what ever the optics in public, they will be delighted to get the money that is being spoken about for Salah.

I don't think he will but if he did get a longer ban then I'd just write him off. I was looking at this season as a bedding-in season as he got used to the league and team where we would start to see the best of him from 2024/25 onwards. The whole process has now been delayed by a year. He can train as much as he wants but it's not the same as playing games so I now don't expect to see the best of him until 2025/26. If any ban extended this process then he's just not worth the hassle.

I suspect this. I don't buy the addiction story myself, just PR. Only sympathy I have for Tonali is that betting on football is probably rife in the game and he's one of the few to be found guilty.
-
He isn't banned and hopefully facing further punishment by the club for his addiction. It is very clear as a footballer that you should not bet on football. He could have bet on anything else to feed his gambling habit without any trouble.
-
It would all depend on what he has disclosed to the club. When he signed the contract, there would have been a clause related to disclosure which he has obviously broken unless he told the club about his gambling. I think every contract I've ever signed has had a generic clause about a failure to disclose information could result in dismissal.
-
I see where you're coming from but I don't see how you can fine a player, who is available for selection, for being late for training and not fine a player (salary reduction) who is unavailable for selection. Which is the bigger "crime"?
-
What is a breach of contract? Every breach of club discipline is in reality a breach of contract. Legally, clubs can not fine a player on disciplinary grounds if they have not broken an agreement in their contract. He has broken his contractual agreement with the club and can't play matches, a situation he is responsible for.
-
Of course you can if you're at fault for not fulfilling your current contract obligations.
-
I'm sure every contract has a general clause about breaching football laws/ criminal acts that prevents a player from playing. Guess work, but I could see a 50% cut in his wages.
-
If he's on full pay then you can kiss goodbye to any discipline in the club. How could you ever fine anyone for being late to training and not someone who through their own actions is suspended for the season?
-
I wonder if one of our kits would be similar to one of the Saudi shirts?
-
Yes naturally I'll notice Newcastle tops but I have also seen plenty of Man, Arsenal, City and Liverpool but very few Spurs tops. I have also mixed with a lot of locals over the years and never once come across a Spurs fan, they all support the other teams.
-
It woud be interesting to see how many of those are South Koreans because of Son.
-
Having lived in Asia and Africa for quite some time, I don't think I've ever come across one local who supports Spurs. Noticeable in Thailand at the moment that I'm starting to see more locals wearing Newcastle tops, not loads but much more than anytime in the past. Ari football, specialised football store over here, has a a lot of Newcastle tops instore. There's even a Fabian Schar murial on a wall (I can't remember if I saw first that posted on here or elsewhere).

Think it's a bit pointless moving people. I would say in general people become less vocal as they grow older so are we going to move people every ten years or so? Not directly related to singing and I'm not saying this for a reaction but it's time for Worflags to put their flags down. Too orchestrated now, if people want to wave a flag then let them bring their own. I haven't been to a match in a long, long time due to being overseas but I wouldn't wave a flag.

Officers Club was similar, notorious for having a permanent 90% off sale
