I finally burst into tears on the youtube tribute for the goal he scored away to Charlton. I remember sitting in the home stand completely forgetting I was totally alone and screamed "Speeeeeeedo". When they equalised I had a whole section chanting "You're not singing any more" at me, what a total knob. What a finish it was.

I'm half thinking retire the #11 shirt. May be a bit much, but it'll just hurt seeing anyone else in it from now on. He deserves that respect.

They stock the lettering style used from 1997 to 2007. I might email them and see if they'll put 'Speed 11' on my 97-99 home shirt if I send it to them.

Remember when I was buying our home kit 2003-2005, the one with blue northern rock. Couldn't decide between Woodgate and Speed, went with Woodgate. f***ing gutted now. Wonder if there's any where I can get an old Speed jersey to commemorate...
Think I'm gonna get that and wear it at the Chelsea game. One way to say thanks for the memories, effort and class.

I loved the fact that, no matter what, during his 6 years here you always knew No.11 was going to be in the line-up. A shining example of what it should mean to be a professional sportsman in age of pretenders, phonies, throwaway tossers and morons. Simply one of the best midfields, nay, players, to ever pull on the black and white. Goodbye Speedo.

The DVLA place is in the tower block on the main road ... you wait for an hour and then they take £2000 quid from you in about 20 seconds.
And give you a parking ticket.
