  1. If they drop this season they lose Rice for way less than inflated market value, which in turn probably gives Moyes a lot shorter of a leash than he deserves for, in my view, getting a hell of a lot out of an ok-good squad over the last 2-3 years. As a total outsider it has an end of lifecycle feel.

Why? I know Leeds supporters can be wankers, so can ours, but Marsch is decent enough and is far from a PFM so many on here can’t stand. Comparing the way clubs are financially ran here to NA Salary Capped Leagues is a bit silly and cliché, mind. The Mets have a $300 million yearly wage bill. [emoji38] The rich teams couldn’t care less about cap fines.

Really? I thought it was a bit lazy of him.

What does he say that’s incorrect? In European football, the teams with the most money do tend to win the most silverware. American sports which have salary caps and a draft system means that more teams win the trophies - there’s much more variety of winner. You’re right that baseball doesn’t have a salary cap, but it at least has a tax penalty for those going over limits - but certainly Yankees, dodgers and Mets are spending a lot more than than other franchises (but not winning year in, year out). He says that Eddie Howe has done a great job but that we can’t ignore the fact we’ve spent quite a lot of money, which we have. I’m not sure what bit you can realistically take issue with, if I’m honest.

  3. My mum is pretty in on Spurs - she wrote their recent history book and a screenplay about them, and has a free season ticket in a box - and she is saying he’s a cokehead.

  4. Depay clearly talented, so on those grounds would be interesting to see what Howe might do with him. Don’t hold anyone accountable for not being good for Manchester United between Ferguson and Ten Hag, basket case central. I suspect it’s agent-driven though, but that’s just a personal hunch.

Football supporter politics is worse than student politics - it is more delusional and more corrupt, and is of even less importance.  More akin to social club boards than anything.

I do find it hilarious that they think their voices will be listened to, mind, no matter how much arse-licking they do.  They’ll find themselves speaking to PIF even less often than they managed to with Ashley.

Genuinely it’s incredible the lengths people will go to - look at their essays for fuck’s sake - in order to get what they think is power and influence. Congrats, you just gave yourself a whole load of admin and massively cut into your free time. But it’s worth it because you’re francis deffers more of a fan than me! Legit thought they disbanded once club was sold, purpose served.
