I hate the finding a way to criticise players when they’ve played well. He’s previously had bad games I wont therefore rightly give him praise when he’s done well is weird way some fans go about things.

He’s a squad player. If we’re going to compete at the top level he’ll need replacing. Also recognise when the lad has done well Ffs as it’s his (and others) contributions now that will get us to a place we want to be. Everyone plays a part.

Just don’t agree, I’ve not seen him play well. He’s not productive at all.

  2. No; I hate the “looking for reasons” creeping back in with him. It’s a huge problem that he’s still getting regular minutes, just needs moving on and replacing with the same urgency just applied to Wood.

  3. This is my real random hatred side. I intensely dislike their fanbase, stadium, club and area. An absolute turdhole masquerading as London. I went to school nearish-by and the amount of donkey wallopers supporting this shower of shit was so tiresome. The absolute raw nonsense they gave when they took on Pardew was absurd, and the moment I gave anything back they displayed the innate sensitivity of a throbbing clitoris. In particular, I hate the concept of their “ultras”. It’s about 60 people and a drum.

I can't think why anyone would have an agenda against Edwards. Could it be openly admitting he enjoys winding up the fanbase? His brown nosing of Steve Bruce? His dog whistling? His generally inaccurate reporting? It's an absolute mystery.

Well, if you’re a functioning adult who can deal with nuance then you can dislike something a person has said or done but still concede to reality when they’ve said something completely accurate or fair on a different matter. I don’t think his reporting is generally inaccurate, for what it’s worth. The Bruce relationship and fan-goading were shit, yes; doesn’t mean you need to maintain an agenda. It’s amazing but people who do something you don’t like can also do something you’re ok with…

Relax man. His first tweet was condescending. History suggests he knows nothing at all.

History actually suggests that this forum has a narrative about him that they will bend facts to suit. He's been wrong before but he's also been right before, like pretty much every journalist writing about us.

    Hi Luke

Fuck it, I'll do it for you.

In his first tweet, he says: "I still think they will do something towards end of window but nothing certain".

In his second tweet, he says "Newcastle looking at Chelsea trio as they wait to see who is going surplus at Stamford Bridge".

He has been entirely consistent. He thinks, but doesn't know for certain, that we will sign someone. He is now reporting that we are considering signing someone from Chelsea.

    Hi Luke

OK - why don't you get the two pieces of content, and explain to me where the inconsistency is? He literally says nothing is imminent and they're telling me that, but I suspect they will sign someone. He is now suggesting that we've inquired as to player available from Chelsea, which is plausible given that they're signing a bunch of players so we may be able to nab a PL ready player to plug-in and go at a position of need in the squad.

Get out of the echo chamber for 5 minutes; the oxygen is nicer here anyway. Good grief.

So, the other day Puke, in his usual big-headed fashion said we might not do anything this window and now  he’s reporting we’re after 4 players?

He said he thought we'd sign someone but nothing was imminent. Absolutely no inconsistency at all between the statements.

We were a top side in the 90s no doubt, and statistically you're right, mentally we were never going to be champions, the game vs Blackburn proved this for me. But the long and short of it is we never were, and we never won anything with one of our best sides, like I said, I felt something was missing. Nearly! we threw away the chance, and it still haunts me a tad.

Listen, I'm not getting insulting over this one, the 9pts off Arsenal now thing means absolutely fuck all, you can't gauge that of the back of last season and predict we'll be challenging for the title in the near future. It's going to be a slow process, anyone thinking otherwise is mad. [emoji38]

I don't think I'm mad. I just don't think "mentally we were never going to be champions" is a persuasive argument, dripping as it is in revisionism and hindsight. But each to their own!

We weren't we were always missing something, and Manchester Utd were serial winners, we always came close but never managed it. Were you around for the KK times yourself? We only truly came close once, but like I said something was missing, even Keegan knew he'd taken us as far as he could.

And on now, I do believe it will take a while, we all thought at the start of the season 7th or a Europa spot would be a success of the back of surviving relegation, that's still a realistic target, we're over achieving slightly and nobody would have had us in this position and a cup semi, but other things have played a part, yes we've lost one game and that's amazing, but Liverpools dip, Spurs, Chelsea etc, these things have all come into play along with our excellent form and made this season unpredictable. I'll stand by what I said, we wont be champions for a good while, and that's another debate.

The bit in bold, I do believe you're getting carried away, but dont think it's a patronising or arrogant reply, I wish I had that confidence, I guess we'll see as it unfolds, so much can still change as it did in 95, we were sat top of the league at this stage with 18 games played.

Yes, I was around. We very nearly won the title in 1995/6, it’s objectively untrue to state otherwise. We finished second the following season! We also “got near” under Robson 2001/02 (insofar as we were in the conversation for a few months). And we’re currently third, 1 point off second. Granted we’re 9 points off arsenal, but clearly as things stand we’re not far away from challenging for the title in the near future.

But if you've supported Newcastle as long as I have, then you'd know we've never been in a position to be champions, are we blaming flair players for us never winning anything? How have you stuck around supporting us this long if you want a team of champions?

I couldn't think of anything worse than a bunch of hard working result grinders, managed by a boring fucker like Mourinho. I want to enjoy this, I want to enjoy Howe, the players taking us on the beginning of the new era, we'll build slowly, we'll get it wrong, and we'll get it right, the Man City model is probably a vision these owners might duplicate, or, it might be very different.

I find it unusual you'd say being a talented baller isn't enough, you need those types of players, because one player can't do it all, I'm sure Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, have all had a baller who couldn't do everything, but, in a side with many good players around you, that said player was appreciated for what he did bring I'm sure.

We cant be running before we can walk, and if this takeover produces success, it will take ages before we see Newcastle champions, perhaps because we are currently over achieving if we're honest, are some people seriously writing off good players and demanding a team of champions already? because we find ourselves third in the league, and in a semi final of a cup.

Just enjoy it man, tbh it's a miracle its happening, (although its divided fans because of where the money has come from,) but on the football side of things I thought my one and only enjoyment was going to be the 90s, an eleven year old buzzing over watching Keegan's entertainers, full of flair players, never won a thing, but, it was the best time of my life, like you want a team of champions now, I never got one then, but I still loved it. Newcastle were everyone's second team, because we played the game in the right way, 'The Entertainers'

    Jesus I've done a HTT.

Honestly man, Maxi isn't the problem, he will be the solution in certain games, just wait and see.

And don't be worrying about being a team of champions, it's going to hopefully happen, I just hope I'm here when it does.

    ☺️??

Your post says both that you watched the Keegan years and that we’ve never been in a position to be champions. Doesn’t add up at all. Same re saying it’s going to take ages to become champions now - we’re not that far away already.

Sour on the price. he's good for a goal and works hard but his all round play has been pretty lacklustre so far.

I'd expect him to have major competition for the right wing spot when Sancho comes back.

You’re not sour on that price either? Total waste of space for you.
