Not sure I would have been allowing that to be released if I were the club. Keep that shit in-house. The parking thing is absurd if true, needless idiocy.

Yeah but I'm not really sure what comparing two different scenarios proves.
I wasn't a fan of the appointment, but he's come in after we sold our best player days before the start of the season (the player the whole team was built around), inherited someone else's squad, and done an OK job. Whether Howe did better or worse doesn't really come into it.
I'll give him a chance and see what he does, he's done and said all the right things so far, so I am not really sure what this conviction that he is a chancer comes from. There isn't anything thus far that suggests that.
Probably because he comes across as a massive tosser on a regular basis so people are keen for him to fail.

@Ikonthink we'll just have to agree to disagree on Shelvey, I think he's a good player but respect your view otherwise.

I did. Him chasing ghosts when playing better players. Not dynamic enough. Also when put under pressure from better sides he struggles to do anything of sort of come out of difficult situations. I have watched him very closely during many games. When he goes too deep then he does some things well but then we lose an option when he goes so deep because he’s playing as a QB
i don’t know what “do anything of sort of come out of difficult situations” means. Otherwise, he’s legitimately one of our most dynamic players - he can do things with a ball and spots runs into space which very few players can. He’s technically a very adept footballer. I wouldn’t say him going too deep is some form of character flaw, he was instructed to play there by consecutive managers. I agree that he’s not good defensively and there are times where he doesn’t chase and compete defensively as much as he should. -
To make what I think are a series of sensible observations:
- we look very comfortable moving the ball side to side
- full backs very involved
- step down from Bruno to everyone else is very noticeable
- Anderson looked good
- Murphy, Fraser and trippier were poor
- wood did nothing but Wilson didn’t do much more
- we didn’t make too many good chances

I’m working so I’m not watching atm. I didn’t base this opinion on one friendly mateThen you can’t have watched much last season either, when he was consistently one of our better players. Just groupthink on here to complain about shelvey, it’s boring

Yet people are happy to see him in and around the team. Naive as fuck.
He very nearly put the ball on a plate for Wilson and has played 2/3 sumptuous passes. You’re not watching if you think he’s not done anything.
-
To be fair to Murphy he put Wilson through (although it was a simple pass to make). Otherwise it’s the usual from him for me - commendable effort but nothing else

I wonder what would happen if Murphy was in a 1 on 1 vs Dubs
He'd miss, like he always does. Try to be positive about the players in general but I've never worked out what about him suggests he is useful at this level.

Murphy cannot finish like.
-
Not much penetration thus far, but largely comfortable and dominant in possession. I'd only single out Fraser for a specifically poor performance (his touch was nowhere). Wood was anonymous.

I don't love watching Matt Ritchie play at left-back in a post-Bruce reality.

Done too - good luck!

I should point out that I like him and would be happy to give him more time. Just pretty obvious why there’s doubt.
-
Because he scored 2 goals in half a season starting most of that period as the only centre forward

I ordered my home shirt with Bruno off Fanatics U.K. - order to delivery took 3 days

Well, I think it's very sad that him and his agent have been killed in a drunken car crash.
And the political correctness brigade can take that in the eye.
Fuck, I thought it was suncream!

Him and his agent are more likely to get pissed up and be killed in a car crash than the kid becoming a superstar.....thats the vibe they give out...IMHO
I am going to go out on a limb and say you've only become aware of the player since we were linked to him in January, and you've probably watched under an hour of footage of him playing football. You literally know fuck all about either he or his agent in reality, and you are basing your entire view on minimal journalistic and social media snippets.
The reality is that you're annoyed that he's probably not signing and you're saying needlessly offensive and wild shit to get yourself over it. "The vibe they give off" ffs. There's no PC brigade, just a bunch of decent people who call out twattery and stupid behaviour because it's as unwelcome here as it is in wider society. You're also being called out because the post demonstrated the intelligence of a plant pot.

The club is so lovable again.

Honestly, I don't understand how he hasn't been snapped up yet. It's a ridiculous price for a 25 year old with his experience and versatility.
The guy was productive on that right side at a very high level and could slot in there for us. Could also cover on the left and upfront if needed. If we ever switch to a 3 at the back against certain opposition, he would also be ideal as a left wing back.
Someone is going to get a great deal with him.
Imagine because clubs know Burnley are desperate to sell any player of value so they’ll bide their time until Burnley have to accept a lower bid.
To be clear I rate him and think he’d be useful back up to wilson and wide forward option. Doesn’t massively move the needle but improves things overall.
