  1. I don't think the following is knee-jerk at all: there is a real risk that we will be in the bottom 3 at Christmas; and I can't see us facing anything apart from a relegation battle again with him in charge. So much of the modern game is down to tactical nouse, getting the most out of your players and man-management; he's one of the worst in the division at all 3. He has, on more than one occasion, played Cisse on the wing to accommodate Shola Ameobi. Just repeat that to yourselves a few times, man.

As Wullie correctly alludes to, he constantly belittles the club and is seemingly hellbent on dulling our ambition. How dare he tell us we are lucky to get a point away at piddly little towns like West Bromwich; that we can't get near competing with the top 5. It's your job to try and bridge the gap, not consolidate it with your crippling lack of ambition and blatant self-preservation.

He's a puppet manager who is way out of his depth at Premier League level, let alone at a club which should be challenging for Europe on a regular basis, based on playing staff alone. He stifles creativity and attacking impetus in favour of abstract, British-based concepts like "grit" and a defensive solidarity which is pointless to try and base your entire game on, given the skill, flair and pace of many attacking players in the division.

Worst of all he publicly says that our players are not good enough and that we are unrealistic. He's a bellend.

Anyone jibing on about stability is bullshitting themselves; it's because he's cheap, he knows he won't get a better job so he'll take what he is given transfer wise and not moan about it and he can be controlled by Ashley and Llambias at will.

Just another in the long line of owners of the club who have never had its best interests at heart.

  2. You don't need a "tackler". Do Bayern have a "tackler"? No, they have three competent, very athletic ball carriers who can all pass with metronomic accuracy. They then teach them how to tackle sufficiently to win the ball back. If we had a decent coach, or any coach, they could just teach Vurnon how to tackle sufficiently to win the ball back and play it. The British obsession with having a holding midfielder/destroyer is another thing holding our game back. Midfielders are the links and the engine in a football team, they all need to be comply comfortable in possession, accurate in passing and adept at finding space first and foremost. Then you teach them how to tackle.

Of course, this being Pardew's team, the priorities are ability to tackle, hoof towards a vague space in front (preferably where opposition team member is standing) and then stand on defence's toes as time goes on.

  3. Never thought it would get to the point where it was impossible to make any kind of point. Especially when we've stayed up.

Anyway, apologies to anyone who I've annoyed, but I've 100% never set out to wind anyone up.

I'll take a break for a few days.

I feel bad now... you haven't wound me up, I just misread Venkman's post because I'm hammered

  4. I'm currently in Istanbul; if either the Galatasaray or Fenerbahce manager ever said such a thing they would be lynched.

Hope you're enjoying Istanbul mate, amazing city.

Maaaaaaaaaan I did not read that as him taking the piss. Hope that wasn't the case Ian after our midfield dynamism for the Blue team...

  5. Unbelievable comments!

IMO he will stay until our first 'string' of bad results. Delaying the inevitable!

That's the real problem. Doing that will muck up next season as well.

Debating this with my mate as we speak. He's all "based on last season he deserved at least until Christmas" - what's the point? Overwhelming evidence says we won't go back to last season's form, so we in effect write off 1/3 of a season by allowing this. I hate him. Pardew, not my mate.

Aforementioned mate points out that in fact he said "he will be given until Christmas" - drunk conversation so have fudged, woops

I think realistically we can finish anywhere between 17th and 10th. That's over 7 million quid. This is an absolutely huge game.

Nah, it's cool, we've survived now so what's £7million? We could bank that and spend it on a player, but fuck it, we have Shola.

Cheers Ian! Yeh it's boss, really top place, glad I've come along. The Grand Bazaar is epic. People here are wicked. So much great counterfeit tat as well.

  9. I'm currently in Istanbul; if either the Galatasaray or Fenerbahce manager ever said such a thing they would be lynched.

If he's said that that is utterly indefensible. It is his job to prepare us to try and win every game and to finish as high up the league as possible. In technical terms that's gross misconduct for admitting that you don't give a shit about attempting to complete your job to the best of your competence.

As someone who 5-6 times a year forks up to come up to Newcastle from London, at a cost of £100 train return and then £30 per match ticket, he can go and fuck himself. Go and fuck himself for embarrassing my club this year. Go and fuck himself for making us a laughing stock again. But first and foremost, go and fuck himself for the pathetic lip service he pays to us fans when he clearly has not one fucking iota what it means to follow this club with your entire heart. Prick.

  10. The good honest debate has been lost on this thread for about 1000 pages. Every day its the same bitching and moaning.

I know i dont have to read it, but I live and hope....

It's because that he's a skidmark on the y-fronts of life and should be sacked ASAP are no longer debatable whilst purporting to maintain a semblance of rationality.

  11. It's going to be a completely tedious 2-0 win for West Ham, with us picking up 2 injuries and dropping anybody capable of doing anything, reverting to 4-4-2 with Shola starting and Pardew blaming our "lack of experience" and "fatigue after an emotional week" for the result, "promising" that things will improve for the rest of the season.

  12. Pardew will decide that what we lack is some solid "experience", and will play 4-4-2 as follows:

    --------------------Elliot------------------------------------

    Simpson-----------Colo---------Taylor-----------Haidara

    HBA--------Tiote-----------Cabaye------------------Jonas

    -----------------Ameobi----Cisse----------------------------

I can almost smell it. Inevitability has a somewhat vinegary woft
