Always thought he was canny without being great. Could work alongside Lascelles.
Yup. Experienced player who knows the league and has worked with Rafa before. Not the most exciting signing but CB signings for squad depth rarely are.
Newcastle signings rarely are

That green light for 3 players tho

May as well have kept Mbemba
But then we could not have signed Schar to leave Mike in profit.

Another loan deal? Where the f*** all the money is going?
Power drinking.

If he's half as good as the last Marlon we had, then we're onto nothing but a winner.

I think we’ll get Fernandez from Swansea on loan and be done.

Someone did that to me in the dulwich college house football final. We won on penalties and I did the DX sign in his face. He hit me and got suspended

Ugh he’s such a predictably lame villain

Lewandowski has been all kinds of turd

Carvajal would have wasted 5 minutes once this is done. Why don’t their players get told to get off the pitch?

Don't make the mistake of thinking any side is gone at this stage. Teams have made up bigger gaps than 7 points later than this.
They weren’t managed by Pards though

Of course they don't want him long-term - him staying necessarily means we become competitive and expectations are raised accordingly, which runs contrary to our purpose as a club that serves as one massive Sports Direct advert to a global audience.
The managerial strategy will be to continue to gamble on whichever name is available to keep us afloat, and only spend serious money if we go down. That Rafa fell into their lap was just a helpful bonus that ensured some semblance of continued (comparative) success and therefore more exposure for Sports Direct.
I would wager good money that Ashley's view is that some vaguely capable manager will always be available, with more money released the less capable they are.
