That's why you don't take Coloccini off.
-
Great tactical foul by Williamson.
-
Let-off. It alarms me that as soon as Colo's off, they have their best chance of the game.
-
Suicidally stupid substitution. Absolutely awful.
-
Fuck's sake, is he injured again?! Don't take him off. That's a horrible, horrible, horrible call.
-
Coloccini is unhuman.

I fear that Atkison loves being the darling of the home fans.

BBC feed is talking sense, think it's harsh.
-
It's not a ludicrous red card, by any stretch of the imagination. It's a harsh one which was inevitable in the circumstances and given his reputation.
-
Tiote's changed what was looking like an easy victory into a nail biter. He'll never learn to control his temper.
The tackle was in no way indicative of a 'temper'. He went for a bouncing ball and mistimed it, and got Fletcher on the shinpad, who then rolled around like he was being tasered.
-
We've lost that bit of tempo we had
Thank you Atkinson, M.

They got both advantage and a free-kick there. It's either or.
-
Complete example of a player's reputation preceding him for me.
-
That's just not a red card.

The only reason Willo is always picked is because he looks like Pardew. i've only just noticed the remarkable similarity.

'It's no good being technically the better team'. I think it is like, Alan.
If he is genuinely of that opinion that's really, really worrying for us.
'...if you don't compete physically' is the rest of the line. Context is always useful.
Touche, didn't see the interview, didn't know there was a caveat to it.

"We have to be the big players in both boxes today". Hoof, hoof, hoof, hoof.

Aaaaaand Sky revert to type with the goal machine clip.

It's a mentality more than anything. Despite Cisse's superior quality as a player, Sunderland defenders will always have in the back of their minds that Shola always scores against them.
If I was an opposing defender I'd be happy if I saw that Cisse was voluntarily dropped for Shola. Shola's a derby hero, no doubt, but he's a significantly inferior player.
-
I still can't believe we exist in a reality where Shola Ameobi starts as a Premier League footballer, not least over Cisse. On the basis of a hoodoo that he scores against Sunderland quite regularly.
-
I think the only type of win we can realistically expect is a really tense, ground-out 1-0 where Krul makes a boatload of saves and we get lucky as fuck.

No, it's Pardew's fault for taking off the player who makes us tick defensively and who held Sunderland at bay all day long.
