This match was supposed to provide hilarity at seeing one of the big sides knocked out at the first hurdle. The implications are far more wide-reaching. Kompany missing from fantasy teams, Man City looking soft (allowing Liverpool passage to a cup? bleurgh), Spurs getting a shot at a severely depleted Man City (no Yaya, no Kompany, no Kolo - a Lescott/Savic CB partnership!). He has played better the last 2 games (haven't seen this one, but sounds like he has continued it). Not his best form but not Obertan-bad, as has been suggested. Our best creative player for the best part of 2011, of course I'm not writing him off after a bad patch.

Without sounding arrogant, I don't think they'll be astute enough to come here and try and frustrate us. They'll be a lot more open and forward (except without the performance/quality of Odemwingie/Long-type strikers), which will suit us better you would have thought.
