  1. As I said on the other forum, I'm absolutely shocked Sunderland lost that. They have the two best defenders outside the Big Four. Champiunz Leegue medals too. Sessegnon could stroll into 90% of teams in the league anarl.
  2. Checked out the NUFC forum the bloke who posted on the Wolves forum was from, and found this thread: http://www.nufc-forum.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=28678.0 Had no idea. No formal affiliation with the club I take it?
  3. Bit of an oversell of Villa's start to the season. Must grate on Villa fans who are less than satisfied.
  4. it's alright, Beren, neither do I. Unfortunately, I've given them 600 quid to watch an entire season of it. :( Well, for your sake and my niece's (also a Villain), I hope it picks up. Though less papering over the cracks, one would hope, might provide a catalyst for change in how McLeish approaches the game. Bit optimistic to think you'll get rid of him so soon after having hired him but hopefully some pressure on him might get him to change his ways! So ultimately, a slide down the table might do you some good! [/brightsideoflife]
  5. Good (again, sorry Brummie - you're a good lad, but I don't think negative/McLeish football deserves points)
  6. Still £210 up for the weekend. Put comparative peanuts on the QPR game, even though I was pretty sure they'd stuff Villa. QPR score!
  7. Absolute mugging if Villa win this, like. Zero attacking intent.
  8. Aston Villa are currently in fifth They're dross
  9. This match is Premiership cliche-101. "Score while you're on top, promoted side"
  10. Think that was the coaching staff. No it was the players.
  11. Yup, Faurlin to Young... then Bothroyd
  12. So, so true. Shocked he's starting ahead of Campbell who has much more about him.
  13. Villa are awful Hope they get a bumraping. QPR need to get ruthless, man.
  14. Taarabt must have hit the woodwork about ten times this season Unlucky bastid
  15. Put another £10 on QPR to win and DJ Campbell to score. Not sure if that gets refunded if he doesn't start though (which he isn't). Or if there is a minimum amount of minutes he has to play.
  16. Despite seeming to make a point of mentioning 'long' or 'deep' balls beginning the moves for our goals, an article markedly lacking in venom/bitterness from Louise Taylor for once: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/sep/24/newcastle-united-blackburn-rovers-premier-league Of course, probably worth bearing in mind, she probably forecast us to finish 21st. And we'd have been lucky to be so high, too.

    Leon Best

Did really well to create space for himself, get a yard on defenders and get shots away yesterday. Obviously needs to take a little more care with driving shots and getting over the ball, not just leathering it - but that's a minor IMO.
  18. It's difficult to speak on behalf of so many people too definitively, but many people I know don't go because of financial reasons. They might feel they're missing out less if their team is playing badly, but they still always want to go - until they check the ticket prices. There is just more price sensitivity for the consumer right now IMO.
  19. Bookies got rinsed today (well, Saturday). Great day of betting - pretty much everything to form
  20. Excited about this already. Anticipate a lot more debate/contention over team selection for this one with Marveaux/Ben Arfa pushing for a spot in the side. Would take a draw as I rate Wolves, but we're capable of more with a decent performance and/or some luck.
  21. The commentators are really keen to sell the audience on the idea De Gea isn't a dodgy keeper.
