I've only seen him play international games a few times. Looked good. £20m is the going rate for these sorts of players these days insane as it may seem. If the likes of Barca and Liverpool have been sniffing around him then it would be fantastic if he was considering us. Infact it's probably euros aswell so the price does seem right.

Kuyts a very good player, gets a lot of stick for not banging them in but I suspect he will start soon. One of the best work rates around.

he went through my mind as well tbh. He's at a low grade club where every player is always ready to jump ship as well. Check. Yep he would be ideal. Can play in a few different positions, that type of player. And he's South American!

A CC CH maybe hes not that good in the air and contains his attacker instead of cutting him off i dont think he would be good there. However he is class on the side !!!! A good left back is much rarer than a good centre half. We have no incentive to try to convert him. It would be completely ridiculous to try and convert a natural full back like Enrique into a centre half. These are two completely different positions and I don't understand why people make suggestions like that.

He's one of those players who has the occasional game where he's "unplayable". Doesnt score enough goals for my liking, but we look a much more rounded side when he is playing. Yeah I think that's another aspect that reminds me of Sutton at his peak. Maybe doesn't do quite enough to be considered the best about but when he's on fire there is no-one that could stop him.

Got to say I'm a huge fan of Carew, he's a classic big striker with a good bit of skill about him. Reminds me a bit of Chris Sutton.

I think Keegan deserved a lot more respect that some gave him, even when we were struggling, if only for what he's done here in the past. Sorry, but he deserved better than some gave and they should be embarrassed and I'm not on about you. I agree. Some of the criticism he got from Newcastle fans even before he'd managed a game was disgraceful. Very much a case of people believing media stereotypes imo. People weren't sure because he'd been out of football for 2 years, and his last year or so at City wasn't exactly the greatest. Throw in 9 games without winning, and you can surely see why people weren't sure? Not really. You don't just lose what Keegan has. He did have it, he still has it and always will.

The thing is maybe it was right not to throw him in straight away because if he had made a big mistake then who knows? His confidence might have taken a big knock and he would never have gone on to the season he has. He's one of the most complete left backs I've seen in a while though and it's fucking amazing that he's playing for us.
