    Martin O'Neill

I'm 100% jealous. The villa fans are in for some good times with him in charge thats for sure.
  2. He looks excellent, i think in January when we hopefully get a good strong striker he will be even better as he will have someone to play off. Already is so hungry though which is encouraging especially given his age and how fresh he is to the league. Good to see our attacks today led by 3 20-21 year olds. All very good players.

I've got a question on fivefolds..i have put on 6 teams this weekend ok, i put £1 on each which has cost me £6 altogether, so if the 6 teams win will i still get the accumulated odds win and if only say 5 teams win what will i get as a return?
  4. Strikers cant show what they can do until the team around them knows what they require to shine. Probably will see a few flashes of brilliance from him this season but nothing more and until the rest of the team is sorted out then this will be the case.

Put £2.50 on Emre to score first 2-0 toon tonight - 50-1 and £2 on Zog to score first 2-0 / 45-1. Worth a punt...

Pissed out in the pub last night my mate bet me £20 that Aston Villa will finish higher than Newcastle this season..stupid disillusioned Celtic fans
  10. Novi Sad, thats where the music festival is yeah? My mates went there last year, said it was a quality place.
  11. I'm still in shock the Derry beat the mighty Gretna, <from western isles of Scotland originally, now living in Glasgow, home of weegies, buckie and stabbing capital of europe. Quality. hopefully derry get newcastle in the next round Aye would be quality, Derry must be quite a good team to beat Gretna 5-1, i mean they must be on par with the likes of Aberdeen?

  13. I think as the previous post says Luque has the talent to be the '2nd' striker, playing off the main main, picking it up outside the box or from the intelligent central passes from midfield but from what we saw today i think he has no chance of making it here with those searching long balls being played all the time. It may be different when we have a big guy who can knock it down to him (Ameobi done it once and he had a tame shot to be fair) but given how long it may take for us to get this striker, his days may be numbered.
  14. I would hope we put a bid in before liverpool raise the funds, keep it relatively quiet and then unveil him shortly after the world cup. I have high hopes i know :!:
  15. Chimbonda will be linked with us at least 45 times in the next 2 months then i guess...

Hitzfeld - wait for German job, would prefer to stay in Germany Scolari - Real, or England well ahead of us Sven - Real though Freddy is a fan so I've no doubt he went for him and he turned us down. Mancini - Do you really want him or just heard his name a bit ? O'Neill - Souness II Deuchamps - Did you mean Deschamp ? Would be a massive risk bringing him here maybe more so than Roeder Le Guen - Deal was wrapped up with Rangers before the season even kicked off. bluesigh.gif

Seriously that's a fucking joke Agreed, for us to miss out on Mon or Hitzield or any big name manager because FF is so obsessed with his notion of giving Shearer the job is just insane. This could set the club back about 5-10 years. How do you know FS didnt contact Hitzfeld or Oneill but they turned it down? I find it quite funny really, When ever we are linked with someone there is always a group of posters who are dead against it. the article we were commenting on states that the main reason O'neil wont be appointed is due to the fact that Shearer is still lingering over the club and as a result of this the club will suffer. The article indicates that FF is choosing Roeder because he would be more suited to be at the club when Shearer somes in...M'ON or Hitzfield would not accept this.

Souness is being played by Barbara Windsor's left breast ahaahaha I can really imagine FF in that role, i tihnk he was born to play it tbh

The more i think about the appointment the more i would think FF is extremely inept tbh, all this time to find a manager and he appoints Roeder on the back of a good run. Fair play to Roeder though, he came in and did what was asked of him and now he finds himself 1 step away from the hotseat!

Good luck to him like, I think hes gonna need it. If we get into europe then I dont think Roeder will take us far, this is why an appointment of someone like Houllier as DOF would be essential if Roeder is taking over. M'ON would still be the ideal appointment. FF should be going all out to get him, if he has to wait then he has to wait. Roeder and a DOF should be 2nd choice. Roeder on his lonesome would be possibly 3rd/4th choice for me. Dont get me wrong hes done a great job so far but I'm not entirely convinced he has what it takes to compete with the chelseas and arsenals. Again if he gets it good luck to him though.

Not too bothered about the appointment, i think with Houllier it would work very well, im still owndering whats happened to M'ON though? Surely he cant of gone to england? And if he hasnt then i think we should still be going all out to get him in instead of losing patience.
  23. Very interesting reading that article on the .com site, didnt realised how the club and it seems about 40% of personnel at it seem to be involved in this proactive group. You would think this should be somehow regulated because there is obvious implications of people making profit at the expense of the actual club and fans..?
