Llambias Q&A with Chronicle: OP updated with Thursday's articles
OzzieMandias replied to a topic in Football
I've answered you, pal. And your unique gift of hindsight doesn't impress me one little bit. Is this 5 out of 6 managerial appointments you agreed with, or do you think that Kinnear will get us back into the Champions League and fulfill the prediction you made which I quote in my sig ? Have you decided yet if you agree with protests or don't agree with protests too mackems.gif Liar. -

For the hundredth time, if you want me to answer your questions, all you have to do is first answer this one: Do you honestly think Shepherd was going to get us back into the Champions League. As you know this, and won't answer my question, you obviously have no real interest in getting an answer to yours. So keep on repeating it, chum, and don't act surprised when people think you're a mong. -

so what do you think of the merits of appointing a manager who won 4 titles with 2 different clubs and 3 manager of the year awards - before they do well or not so well, with your own unique gift of hindsight ? You're still fully behind Mike Ashley and his amazing success I take it ? Are we still on this question? he's a bit shy with the answer, the truth being that nobody in their right mind would consider such an appointment to be a poor one, but he might surprise us if he replies. it's not the only question on here that goes unanswered though is it ? do you keep on borrowing while making a loss and debts mounting until you are succesful or bankrupt whichever comes first ? he's a bit shy with the answer. the truth being he knows you can't borrow indefinitly but to say so would break his argument. so instead he'll reply (not answer) that you won't compete without spending (whilst neglecting to say where the money will come from, maybe throwing in a reference to other clubs in debt of which none are actually in our position) I've answered you. You don't know if the next player will be the one that gives you great value, you don't deliberately buy a player that doesn't give good value, and re the question that mandiarse refuses to answer because he KNOWS he has agreed with at least 4 of those 6 appointments, is that you don't deliberately appoint managers who you think will fail either. The worst scenario is the one that Ashley is taking which is not to take the risks to compete, so stand by for a dose of REAL mediocrity, far worse than what you previously thought it was. i wonder if anyone else on here thinks that is an answer to the question i asked ? He's answered it every bit as completely as he has answered my question, "Do you honestly think Shepherd would have got us back into the Champions League." That is to say, every time he hears it he runs and hides under the bedclothes, gibbering some inane tripe about manager of the year awards. so what exactly is your criteria for appointing managers, what do you think of appointing a manager who had won 4 titles with 2 different clubs and 3 manager of the year awards ? Thats at least 4 out of 6 managerial appointments you agreed with, isn't it Ozzie ? C'mon, don't be shy mackems.gif See my sig ? Do you still stand by the fact that by virtue of that comment, you think Ashley will get us back into the Champions league mackems.gif Thanks for demonstrating my point. what point ? You mean you think Ashley will "make a better fist of it than the present board" and get us back into the Champions League - by appointing a manager who won 4 titles with 2 different clubs and 3 manager of the year awards, for example mackems.gif The avoiding questions you're too chickenshit to answer by gibbering inane tripe point. Obviously. -

i dont think the global recession has had that much effect on our position.....except ashley couldn't find a buyer It's also had a big effect on Ashley's personal fortune and his other businesses.
-
Oh look! NE5 has finally noticed the global recession!
-
Man the barricades! Yeah, he's really coining it at our expense.

They have got to be taking the piss. Can't believe I'm saying this but, after reading that pukey drivvel I think I preferred it when they just hurled insults and sang "sack the board" Are we going to have a "join hands for Keegan" moment ? That would certainly enhance the protest experience. Damned if they do.... How will you contribute to raising the desire to speak in a unified voice? By coming on here and arguing with the naysaying divvies. I'm afraid you've drifted a bit "off message" here. Please internalise the core message "unity is strength" and adjust your hemline accordingly. So there's nothing whatsoever they can do that you'll approve of? A strange conclusion that evidences an inability to think out of the box.

Hmm. Venerable institution, the Live Theatre -- been around in the city a looong time. And this Michael Chaplin is the son of the late Newcastle writer Sid Chaplin. No reason it's necessarily going to be shite.

Shearer. No contest. Even when his powers were failing, he was still such a presence. Maybe even too much of one at times. Owen... even after four years I still don't really feel like he's truly part of the club.
-
have you decided if you agree with protests or not ? Surely that would depend on what the protest is about? its about unhappiness with how the club is run. As ozzie was fully behind a protest about the last board, as I have linked, why does he ridicule the idea when someone else is the target ? Basically toonlass, he just likes his one liners, which aren't funny in the slightest, and doesn't like the same back. Unless he is happy with how Ashley is running the club, but he hasn't told us this either as he's not one for opinions Ozzie, just hindsight later. Bit behind the times NE5. Anyway, are you going to the "rally" on sunday? That would negatively impact his pre-match drinking experience, though he might have a "shake the drops off for Freddie" moment.

Clearly the old board were only responsible for things when they turned out well. For those occasions when they turned out badly, blame magically disappears into fractions and percentages. -
They tried to get Joan Baez but the finances wouldn't stretch to it.

Just PM your credit card details and I'll send you a secret decoder ring.

"NUSC believes that this is a critical point in our season and that unity is strength when it comes to shaping the future direction of the football club both on and off the field. " clear as, er, yeah...garbage basically isn't it? i also like the term "speaking opportunity" which suggests they're just gonna let any old radgie get up there and start spouting s**** about MA asset stripping the club etc... Agreed. I can imagine it getting very tedious very quickly. You'd think for an organization like them their first point in any advertisement would be to get their aims and objectives across. totally can't agree with the tedious bit though, the mental image i have of this event now could be the funniest thing ever seen! like a cross between the mob out of life of brian and a concert by mungo jerry!!
-
Well, they say it's not a protest. You say it's a protest. Either you're wrong or they're hypocrites.
-
I think you've assisted greatly in making my point that the aims of this event remain pretty incoherent. Thanks!
