Apparently Jémez held contract talks with Rayo this Monday and they broke down, which I guess is the reason why all those links are starting to appear.
Honestly, I know Ashley will probably go for someone "safe" and boring ala McLaren, but you would be in for quite a ride with Jémez.

Such a wasted opportunity if they appoint either Mclaren or Carver. FFS, McLaren can't even get a team out of the Championship, how is that any kind of a job reference. Carver's record speaks for itself, the guy should be nowhere near this football club.
It's not an easy league to get out of. Particularly this season.
I think SM would be able to get us Europa League football on regular basis, provided he is adequately backed.

John Carver says he is working on the clash with Swansea City like it is a World Cup final.
The Newcastle United head coach was responding to Daryl Janmaat’s comments that the game was on par with the World Cup semi-final.
Carver said: “That’s how important it is and if he thinks that good. As long as everybody else feels that way.
“We have been preparing for it like a World Cup final.”
Carver also said the planned protests are affecting the players – but said his side have 89 minutes apart from the 34th minute protest against Mike Ashley to perform.
He said: “We will have 89 minutes to have a go at it (the game). It is affecting people. It affected me and the players. I didn’t want to use it as an excuse (though) and I don’t have a problem with protests.”

John Carver is happy to just be the head coach without any involvement in player transfers except for drumming up interest in our own ones then, just like Pardew before him. I am with those who are starting to hate Carver more than Pardew actually, at least the latter didn't pretend to love the club whilst killing it from the inside.

I can't help but think he'd be more well liked on this forum if his name was Jacques Colbaccio and he was more of a looker.

We would let him go for a decent fee. IN the PL I would be surprised if a top 6/7 side came in for him and he succeeded.

I thought he was our best player in the first half but one of the worst in the second. It was absolutely baffling how he wasn't taken off instead of Cabella. Even if he was desperate to throw Obertan on at least stick Cabella on the left, Sammy was knackered.
I'm not sure why he seems to get such a hard time from some of the fans.
I honestly belive that it's simply due to his surname with some of the 'haters'.
Nope just don't think he's anything special - don't hate him at all and I would love him to be a really good player but at the end of the day he isn't
