  1. re: enjoying world cup. I'm enjoying it. It's constant football. Even if it's shit, it's still football that can be talked about and decreed as shit.
  2. Seeing Seedorf on the TV as a pundit at the world cup for same reason gave me the assumption that he was long retired. Completely forgot he was still playing for Milan. Poor Milan.
  3. anything that wins. I'm trying to hard to find something. Think I'll give it a miss tonight.
  4. I didn't bet, but I could've! and I'd have to stab you. NOW I may consider a bet, things could get interesting.

Can we not just persuade Mandela to tell everyone they're shit? They'll obey Mandela and we won't have to go through this pain anymore.
  6. Right. I really dunno if theres anything interesting me. I think Italy will win, but at these odds, should I just make a quid or 2, or throw all my £40 on and embrace the suffering? Or! don't bet.
  7. Point still stands boy. Result is more reflective of Cameroons shitness than Japans ability IMO.
  8. Stay away from my bets broonale. Stay the fuck away!
  9. I agree with this, but I almost think they should be forced to join the team they have identity with (absolutely no actual way of doing this). Just because I'm sure there are players who have chosen a nation either a) because they wouldn't get on the team of their actual preferred nation, or b) because their preferred nation is turboshit and they want a chance of going to the world cup/euros/acn/etc. Maybe everyone in the world should have to declare their international sports nation when they're like 8 or 9. Then they wouldn't have the nous to pick tactically!
  10. oh ffs, I need Cameroon to win, I don't want no bad luck gambler on my side! You better not ruin this for me!

"I find these complaints absolutely baffling. First of all, the drone of the vuvuzelas is a tremendous, otherworldly sound. What is the point of holding a World Cup in South Africa if you are going to prevent South African crowds from expressing themselves in their own way? For me, it adds an unexpected and genuinely different feel to the whole occasion. So you can put me down as a vuvuzela-lover. But secondly, why is it that the incessant chanting or singing of football fans is suddenly so widely cherished by viewers? Personally, I find the sound of a football crowd either dreary, boorish or, if England fans are around, plain offensive, particularly if we happen to be facing Germany or Turkey. A ban on vuvuzelas would be a victory for bland, globalised non-culture over the current cultural expression of South Africans. It doesn’t matter that these horns are relatively new in cultural terms, having been adopted only in the early 1990s; there are plenty of things in every culture that are equally new, and it doesn’t make them any less valid. Finally, a word of advice: if you don’t like them, I suggest you use the mute button. That way you kill two birds with one stone, getting rid not only of the vuvuzelas but the crass partiality and borderline racism of the ITV/BBC commentators." Bold bit 1) There isn't a point other than to force feed some tourism cash to S.Africa, be thankful Bold bit 2)

If only the Vuvuzela was played by white people with blonde hair and blue eyes, only then would it be a treat for the world to embrace.

African games are all about colour, noise, outlandish costumes, etc Thats what we are all about. We Dress in crazy stupid outfits, with big sunglasses and hats etc. We make a noise with our vuvuzela (amongst other instruments). That is what African football is all about. It might not make sense to you. Neither does a man taking 10 wives. Just respect that other countries and their supporters are different than yours. Everything is fine bar the stupid constant drone of the vuvuzela. It's not outlandish, crazy, fun and different, it's just really fucking tiresome and I don't understand why you mugs ever took to it.
  15. I'd prefer Dawson than both Upson and Carragher. As much as it pains me to say it.
