  1. One of those games where both teams would never score a goal even if they played for another 10 hours? Someone just kick it into the net ffs.
  2. Costa Rica held on by the threads of van Gaal's wig. Robben though
  3. I think Mertens comes close to Nasri as having the face and general posture of an utter arrogant c***.
  4. He is though. He had a ridiculous game against Man United where he completely dominated. Since then I think he's been exclusively s****. He was good for us because of how we played him, but anyone who watched us regularly with a few brain cells could see if we were going to progress as a footballing side - just like how we got rid of Cahill (about 2 years too late) - we needed to get rid, and thus why the fee we got was so hilarious. Would be interested to see him in the same team as Andy Carroll.
  5. They really ought to play night matches only in this kind of climate.
  6. I'd sell Debuchy on the hope that Carr could find someone better for peanuts. Think Mathieu is alright overall, good movement going forward off the ball and has a very good recovery tackle in him, but he also loses his man alot (hence why he's frequently playing catch up) and usually does nothing noteworthy on the ball. As Ronaldo has posted earlier, think we'd be better off with someone solid at the back first and foremost. Beye at his best was miles better than Debuchy imo, he'd lock his flank down defensively and pretty much shut out anyone on his flank, and wasn't too shabby going forward either.
  7. People keep bringing up Hatem's previous failures at other clubs. But has he ever played under a manager who appreciates/encourages flair? We know from first hand experience that for every Keegan or Sir Bobby, there's about a hundred Souness' and Pardews out there, i.e. managers who focus on defense and work rate because (a) it's easier and (b) it masks their inability to coach, work with, and get the best out of attacking flair/genuine talent. The difference between these types of managers for a flair player is like night and day.
  8. If Messi wasn't a nerd and spent more time in the gym, he'd have the build of Shaqiri.
  9. That little grin before getting the ball off the ref
