He’s far better than Shelvey, I’d have said before that he had a good attitude but he really did fuck all to drag his team to better things last season. He was as culpable as any of the others.. I’m not sure I want that.. great when things are good but goes missing when facing adversity etc.

I think he’d need a full season to reach the fitness levels required for our squad, bit like Gordon (except he’s a much better athlete)

As if he did “f**k all.” 20 goal involvements! Leicester went down because of defence not attack. As if Maddison’s responsible for sorting the defence out. And the only way to drag up that defence is effectively for him to score even more goals and assists, which is a massively unfair ask

The “worrying” stuff is very boring too imo.

It could be the end of the world: NUFC lose Bruno and N-O is no longer engaging & entertaining!

    Worrying.

Feyenoord are an exceptionally well run club nowadays, highly rated manager in Slot too. The Athletic did a piece on them a few weeks ago and they're used to taking in young players from around the globe and putting in a lot of effort to help them settle. Minteh may not feature a whole lot early on but it should be a positive move, they're top scorer from last season was a young Mexican player who they signed last summer and he barely played initially as they noticed a deficiency in his running style that they wanted to address.

This some HTT schtick? He back?

I caveat this by saying I'm a late-30s, bitter, cunt who drinks a pint if cynicism for breakfast, but genuinely dont want any other club from this country other than my own to do well [emoji38]

This is where I’m at. Unashamedly

Pretty sure people said it would be a missed opportunity to push on last season if we didn't sign a right winger in the summer. We didn't sign one.

In January they then said it would be a missed opportunity to consolidate a top 4 place if we didn't sign a central midfielder. We didn't sign one.

They were wrong on both accounts.

I said nothing about the first point. The second misrepresents my view on January. I was always clear that there was no need to take a RISK by not signing a midfielder. I said even if we make top 4 without signing one (and letting Shelvey go), it’s still a risk of falling away in the Carabao and the league. Now we fell away in one and not the other. Maybe we’d have done better in Carabao with an extra midfielder, maybe not who knows. My view was that the risk wasn’t worth it, not that it was a guaranteed bad move.

Hearts on paper was a good club for Kuol. It should have been a good loan for him but didn’t get the minutes

With a rough Diamond, Hearts will always be the wrong Club. Needs to be somewhere that’ll put in the Spade work. A team in Texas that can hold em til they’re 21 is what we want.

    You that accurate ?

I wish lol! No not at all. When I play golf, the trees hope for a bit of wind so they can sway out the way of my shots!

What? Is this true? The agent takes a percentage of wages. That’s absolutely filthy.

It’s certainly true in the case of certain agents who are currently arguing over the rights to a prem player’s contract. He’s pretty high level and they have a number of players on their books so likely very widespread.

If it was a £40m fee and £120k per week for three years, then total contract value would be £58.7m, so circa £5.8m for the agent (nice work, if you can get it…). £200k for three years, with no transfer fee, would be circa £3.1m for the agent (both assuming a 52 week payment schedule). Outrageous really.

It totally is outrageous, given that being an agent is a largely unregulated business. It just adds a little more perspective on player wage demands. They might be asking for more as they have ongoing liabilities to their agent/staff. It’s a bit like a boxer having to pay trainer’s wages etc out of their fight earnings, the headline figure might not reveal the whole picture.

Wouldn’t be surprised on a freebie. Anyway, might have been on the shopping list last couple of windows, doubt he is now.

Interesting point on player’s wages. The agent takes their percentage not just on the transfer fee and/or signing on fee, but also of the entire wages throughout the contract. So if an agent is on say 10% commission for Tielemans, the agent will pocket £20k per week through the contract at £200k.

    Villa side is strong.

Anyone else almost like Villa? [emoji38]

I like Emery, I like there players and they are upsetting the status quo.

I agree but only for today. And if they lose my truce will end at full time.

Which were currently beating. Be a nice little stat that Eddie can use for a pay rise if we do it.

I suggest we make New Astor a proper kingdom. Make Eddie the King, all monies the club generates comes to him, then he dishes the money out to whom he pleases. Gives players peerages and titles, same with staff etc.
