The only criticism he's had is the way he's gone about this, I don’t think anybody has criticised him for his game.

Harper has played over 100 competitive games for us, usually filling in for Given. He usually comes in cold and goes out of the team as soon as Given has come back so you would expect him to have a shit goals against per game ratio. In reality he hasn’t he’s got a better ratio and he’s been in against the top teams in the league and Europe so it’s not because he’s faced shite all of the time.

We've got somebody who comes out for crosses and screams at the defence.

Maybe it was, you would think he'd got used to it by now, he let 11 goals in last season in two games against Man U. The thing is, we don't know how he feels or what has made his lawyer come out with the statement, we'll have to wait and see.

I would think more of Given if he had come out and said it, he's got two choices. He either asks for a transfer or he publicly comes out and says he's staying. If he says nothing then he's gone down in my estimation of him.

I've never said he's been shite so take your own advice and look up "blinkered." People realised Shearer didn't want to leave Newcastle but that didn't stop teams from trying.

Bobby said in his latest book that no club had ever come in for Given while he was manager, maybe that's why he's been here so long.
