I know this isn’t much of a comfort, but Nicky Butt has been asking for a contract extension within the last week or two so it might not be as bad as some think. Jesus, that makes me feel worse.

The attitude problems came about after Bobby became a lame duck, before that the problems were minor.

I'm not bothered if he goes, I don't rate him as highly as some on here. He's a good keeper but I'll be just as happy to see Harper in goal. My biggest concern is what is going on that we don't know about? If this is just Given then it's not a massive problem, if it goes deeper then it could be.

You're seeing what you want again.

He can keep Barton company at his AA meetings.

That depends on the circumstances, it was embarrassing the first time around but this time it was an isolated incident so only reflects on those carrying it.

That really is a shithole, even by the mackems standards. I went to college in Sunderland and I enjoyed taking the piss out of them. Me and a lad from York ripped them to bits and we went out drinking in the town centre with our colours on, he'd wear a scarf and I'd wear my football top. To be fair, I had some good mackem mates, it was one big piss take and that was both ways. -

I haven't heard of Panns Bank, it must be a shithole which has been re-named. -
Barton has just taken some shit on BBC3, he's on the most annoying people of 2008 at number 12.

Sometimes decisions are best made while drunk, at least you have an excuse when they go wrong. Seriously though, make decisions and go with the flow, if you make mistakes, which we all do, learn from them. I've made loads of mistakes but I made them for the right reason, you're not always right. -

Too much alcohol is poison and your body knows it if you've binged on it. I can't drink blends or Bacardi as I’ve had too much in one go and my body now tries to reject it. -

I have tried it with water but felt that the water took the edge of it and I wasn't impressed. -

I don't like it with anything. Glenmorangie and my eyes must be going as it's labelled as 10 years old but I've had it for two years. The label said "Perfected by the 16 men of tain." -

I stopped back and was happy to do so because I thought we needed some tweaking of the squad to freshen it up and we'd be off again. I've said this a few times but I don't think we've lost fewer games in the Premiership than we did in Bobby's last season. He wasn’t perfect, his treatment of Nobby was crazy and Jenas was getting games when he should have been dropped. Look what happened to Everton when they finished 4th, they struggled and finished the next season in 11th when they had to play in the league and Europe. In his last full season we finished 5th and got through to the UEFA Cup semi-final and our squad was so thin and injury hit that we lost Dyer and Bellamy before playing the 1st leg and added Woodgate to those two by the time the 2nd leg came around. We still went into our last game with the possibility of qualifying for the CL and we probably would have done so if we hadn’t been hit with injuries. Things were that bad that we had Caldwell in defence, a player who had been out on loan at Leeds and was going to the mackems and we tried to bring Lua Lua back. We sacked him after 4 games in which we'd lost 2 and drawn 2 and were unlucky at Boro as we'd been cheated out of a win. Woodgate was flogged and we should have invested that back into the team and brought in a replacement for him. I’ll not go into the pre-season and the shit that was going on about it being his last season. But yes, let’s not try to change history or airbrush anything.
